Our team is a tight-knit group of creative problem solvers who are smart, kind, and committed to helping each other grow.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\">Where you come in</span></p>\n<p>We’re looking for a data leader who will shape Chowdeck’s data-driven culture and build intelligent systems that power our operations, customer experience, and business growth. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll design, build, and deploy machine learning models and analytical frameworks that optimize delivery operations, improve personalization, and drive profitability. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Business, Strategy, and Operations teams to solve high-impact problems at scale. This is a high-ownership role. Your work will directly influence strategic decisions, shape how millions of deliveries happen across Africa, and define the future of Chowdeck’s data ecosystem.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\">In this role you'll be required to:</span></p>\n<p>- Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning models across forecasting, optimization, personalization, and risk detection.</p>\n<p>- Identify and frame high-impact opportunities where data science can transform customer experience and operational efficiency.</p>\n<p>- Conduct competitive intelligence analysis to drive actionable business insights.</p>\n<p>- Develop data-driven approaches to pricing, incentives, and promotion algorithms that balance growth with profitability.</p>\n<p>- Partner with stakeholders across Product, Operations, and Engineering to translate business challenges into analytical solutions.</p>\n<p>- Design and manage experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, causal inference) to validate strategic initiatives.</p>\n<p>- Build robust data pipelines and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure scalable, reliable model deployment.</p>\n<p>- Create and maintain frameworks to track and improve key business metrics.</p>\n<p>- Maintain high data quality standards and ensure integrity across all analyses and systems.</p>\n<p>- Mentor and coach junior data scientists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.</p>\n<p>- Communicate complex insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders, driving alignment and action across teams.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\">You’re perfect for the role if you:</span></p>\n<p>- Have 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role, with proven expertise in applied machine learning.<br></p>\n<p>- Are highly skilled in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow).</p>\n<p>- Are proficient in SQL, spreadsheets, and big data tools.</p>\n<p>- Have hands-on experience with experimentation, causal inference, and statistical modeling.</p>\n<p>- Hold a strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.</p>\n<p>- Have a proven track record of building and deploying ML models in production environments.</p>\n<p>- Communicate complex ideas clearly and can influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</p>\n<p>- Enjoy solving ambiguous, complex problems.</p>\n<p>- Bring experience or deep curiosity about logistics, e-commerce, marketplaces, or food delivery.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\">Beyond the paycheck, Chowdeck employees get:</span></p>\n<p>Full medical coverage</p>\n<p>MacBook Pro for your work</p>\n<p>Smart, kind colleagues invested in your growth<br></p>\n<p>Housing assistance</p>\n<p>Lunch allowance<br></p>",
