    "description": "<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li> Interfaces between the ship and the shore on technical matters<br>• Be thoroughly familiar with each fleet vessel<br>• Maintain a good knowledge of all assigned vessels ensuring that each fleet vessel, performs according to: <br>- Design characteristics<br>- International and National rules and regulations<br>- Our SMS<br>- Our Key Performance Indicators<br>• Regularly visits our vessels, to report their condition and budget variances, to ensure that the: <br>-Always adequately prepared for any inspection <br>-Conducting the drills regularly as per:<br>S.O.L.A.S/S.O.P.E.P/OPA-90/Our requirements<br>- Existing staff onboard is well trained <br>- Fabric maintenance condition is up to our standards<br>• For the engineering personnel onboard the assigned vessels:<br>- Evaluates their performance <br>- Approves their appointment<br>- Evaluates their competency<br>- Guide them in the development of their:<br>Technical skills/Interpersonal skills<br>• Performs cost control on the assigned categories, based on approved annual budget figures, while maintaining the vessel’s operational standards and maximizing the vessel’s performance. <br>• Evaluates the vessels and the machinery performance regularly, to ensure machinery performance as per their designed characteristics, aboard and ashore<br>• Reviews the maintenance status of his assigned vessels continuously concentrating on the following: <br>- Status of Work Order-Failures (defect reports) of all machinery including critical equipment through the NS PMS<br>- The number and nature of any outstanding maintenance task:<br> Evaluates reasons of outstanding tasks <br> Considers rescheduling basis TRA and submission through NS PMS<br>- Carrying out remote verification of the completed maintenance tasks in the PMS by:<br> Reviewing the findings <br> Supporting documents <br> Closing out the task<br>• Provides technical support to the vessel and Fleet personnel as required<br>• Monitors planned maintenance activities and arranges rendering of:<br>- 3rd party services<br>- Equipment maker or specialist contactors<br>- Riding teams<br>- Landing and repairs of equipment at shore<br>• Monitors class status <br>• Coordinates timely class inspections<br>• During vessels’ dry dock, attends designated vessel to:<br>- Prepare the dry dock and repair specification, draft<br>- Submit the specification to qualified bidders<br>- Analyze and negotiate bids<br>- Ensure that:<br> All works are undertaken according to specification <br> The vessel is delivered in a sea worth condition ready in all respects to commence commercial trading to the approved budget and time frame<br>• Coordinates and liaises with other company’s departments <br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Qualifications / Experience</span><br>• S<span>ea experience </span><span>on oil/chemical vessels  </span><span>for minimum 5 years based on the assigned fleet, with 1 year minimum as Chief Engineer, or University Graduate Engineer and/or Naval Architect with minimum 5 years office experience </span><br>• Good English Skills<br>• Good communication and negotiation abilities<br>• Capable to monitor and stay abreast of development in:<br>- Changing legislation <br>- International requirements, or <br>- Other development in the Marine industry<br>• Proven knowledge of vessels:<br>- Operations, Equipment, Dry docking, Repairs<br>• Ability to:<br>- Analyze costs and tenders for competitive quotations<br>- Negotiate with vendors on quotes and discounts for work and time for repairs</p>",
