Description

The Clinical Educator RN is responsible for the planning, design and implementation of education programs/services and professional development of assigned staff. Works closely with nursing directors and/or department managers on the educational needs assessment and orientation programs for staff, in the assigned specialty. Ensures that competencies and skills are current and relevant for the nursing staff. Functions as a resource for educational issues throughout the hospital. Orientation & Competency Assessment: Leads hospital orientation for new hires and supports new graduate education programs; performs ongoing assessments of staff learning needs to ensure clinical competencies, skills, and knowledge remain current, relevant, and compliant with standards of practice. Professional Education Practice: Develops, facilitates, and delivers education programs using effective teaching strategies in formal and informal settings; manages learning environments efficiently, optimizes resources, assists learners in identifying needs, and provides constructive feedback and guidance. Communication & Change Facilitation: Serves as a positive change agent by influencing and supporting updates to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; promotes staff competence, engagement, and understanding through clear, collaborative communication. Data Collection & Documentation: Participates in quality improvement initiatives, research, and evidence-based practice projects related to clinical education needs; ensures Educational Training Program (ETP) documentation is accurate, complete, timely, and compliant with legal, certification, and hospital-wide standards of care. Required Qualifications: Active, current, and unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing AHA Basic Life Support AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to maintain flexibility and composure in a constantly changing environment Must have at least Three (3) years of clinical knowledge and experience Bachelor of Science in Nursing Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science Nursing Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) or certification in specialty area Instructor status for BLS and ACLS This is a full-time position.
