Overview NexGen is looking to add a Billingual Site Safety Technician to our Boardman, OR location. Responsibilities Why NexGen? NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray, is based in Franklin, TN, and specializes in executing turnkey project scopes, including concrete, steel, millwright, and finishes. NexGen is fully integrated with Gray Construction and serves as a preferred subcontractor. The NexGen team is made of career, trade-specific professionals and core craftsmen with decades of experience who are dedicated to meeting our customers’ unique needs. NexGen offers a wide range of self-perform services, which include supervision, administration, craft labor, materials, tools, documentation, consumables, and safety devices to successfully carry projects from start to finish. Qualifications Who we want… (Requirements) Up to five years of related experience. OSHA 30 Hour card required. Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications. What we expect… (Essential Functions) · Enforce the use of safety equipment/clothing as required by OSHA, company safety regulations, and customer requirements. · Reinforce that team members on the project site are in compliance with the safety requirements of NexGen. · Ensure that appropriate safety records are maintained. · Ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat, safe and orderly fashion. · Investigate cause of an incident and complete reports as required. · Assist Site Manager in administrative counseling to team members and trade partners who are in non-compliance with safety requirements. · Hold safety meetings/jobsite review as part of coordination meetings. · Responsible for conducting daily safety meetings. · Responsible for conducting orientation and jobsite specific training. · Responsible for the communication, implementation and enforcement of NexGen’s safety program on site. · Other duties may be assigned. Physical Demands & Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear. They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The team member is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. The noise level is generally moderate to loud. Appropriate protective measures will be provided. Overtime may be required.
