    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong><em>The Offsite Maintenance and Modernization (M&M) Office in Puget is hiring Manufacturing Technicians.</em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position is responsible for performing submarine shipboard and manufacturing work to support new construction and maintenance efforts within the shipyard and shop environments.  A Manufacturing Technician is a multi-disciplined person that must have one or more skills within the trades such as Welders, Electricians, Pipefitters, Shipfitters, Inside / Outside Machinists and Sheetmetal workers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will cultivate and promote a positive TEAM environment, be highly motivated, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and drive innovation and continuous improvement.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The successful candidate will establish and maintain strong working relationship with the AIT team to ensure performance in safety, quality, schedule, and cost. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This individual will work collaboratively with on-site supervision to achieve department goals and requires a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability to achieve overall success.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Travel will be required to offsite locations to support coordination and oversight of related activities. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop, enhance and be willing to learn new skillsets; Applying with appropriate training</li>\n <li>Promote a collaborative and team environment to meet organizational goals</li>\n <li>Collaborate with operations, engineering, design, material, quality and other support organizations as necessary</li>\n <li>Possess an energetic and positive attitude and be willing to change and develop as the requirements of assigned tasks dictate</li>\n <li>Monitor and improve workplace climate; reinforce desired workforce values behaviors; maintain morale</li>\n <li>Travel to other shipyards in the continental United States is required. Must be willing to accept extended work assignments. The organization is a traveling team</li>\n <li>Support work outside normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and emergency overtime may be required</li>\n <li>Expected to know, comply with and participate in site improvement goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Required:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or GED</li>\n <li>1+ years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and manufacturing industry OR successfully completed a recognized welding school training</li>\n <li>Travel to other shipyards in the continental United States and the Far East is required</li>\n <li>Required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays</li>\n <li>Required to perform shift work and emergency overtime as work dictates</li>\n <li>Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher</li>\n <li>Ability to use NAVSEA/SP ships drawings, technical manuals, ship system manuals and various other documents in the performance of this task is a must</li>\n <li>Must have the ability to perform the functions of the craft to the proper procedures and policies in a safe manner</li>\n <li>Must be able to qualify and maintain Respiratory Protection certification</li>\n <li>Must be able to qualify and maintain Fall Arrest Protection certification</li>\n <li>Must be able to qualify and maintain Lifting & Handling / Industrial Trucks certification</li>\n <li>Must be able to qualify and maintain the EB Heavy Metals Program requirements</li>\n <li>Selected candidates must be able to pass a practical exam for position applied</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>2+ years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and manufacturing industry</li>\n <li>Minimum of 1 year working in an industrial marine environment </li>\n <li>Past experience working in Naval Shipyard environment Knowledge of MDP’s, MDD’s, SDD’s and DI’sProficient in ATA, Lotus Notes, Cornerstone, PQSTrade background or technical apprenticeship training</li>\n <li>Military service</li>\n <li>Experience with Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, Sheet metal, Welding processes and installation of multiple ship systems on Trident, 688, Seawolf and Virginia class submarines</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Highly organized with the ability to multitask within a constantly changing environment</li>\n <li>Strong coordination skills across multiple disciplines and functional areas</li>\n <li>Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical correspondence</li>\n <li>Strong communicator with the ability to balance priorities</li>\n <li>Experience with Welding Techniques sheets, MDDs, SDDs and DI’s</li>\n <li>The successful candidate will be expected to know, comply with and participate in site improvement goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Physical Qualifications</h2>Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Heavy Lifting, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting\n<h2>Environmental Attributes</h2>Acids or Alkalis, Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily, Outside, Wet",
