    "description": "<h2>Summary</h2>\n<p>The Senior Development Engineer I requires knowledge of advanced engineering principles and methods related to tire design and analysis to meet target objectives. The Sr. Development Engineer I is responsible for all phases of replacement tire development including the design of experiments, testing and analysis of results.   Assignments may include challenging projects that cover both replacement and original equipment tires which involve a close partnership with outside customers to achieve desired objectives.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform all types of development programs including for both replacement tire lines and original equipment customers.</li>\n <li>Perform requirements analysis and implement tire development project plans for new projects.</li>\n <li>Develops project plans for entry level engineers.</li>\n <li>Create budgets for each project and track expenses.</li>\n <li>Receive and negotiate overall project targets with internal and external customers. </li>\n <li>Establish specific tire performance targets.</li>\n <li>Check and approve mold drawings and assure adherence to design standards. </li>\n <li>Approve the drawings of entry level engineers.</li>\n <li>Create and issue experimental tire specifications.</li>\n <li>Set up experimental designs utilizing appropriate analytical and statistical methodologies.</li>\n <li>Work with tire manufacturing groups to build and verify experimental tire builds.</li>\n <li>Generate test requests, oversee tire testing and summarize test results.</li>\n <li>Issue development project interim and final reports. Present results to management, other internal departments and external customers.</li>\n <li>Implement development tires and specifications into production. </li>\n <li>Perform required internal and external certification testing to certify products into production.</li>\n <li>Participate in regular department meetings. Conduct regular design reviews on assigned projects.  </li>\n <li>Conduct design reviews and participate on product evaluations with external customers.</li>\n <li>Participate on task force teams to increase technical capability and achieve increased performance.</li>\n <li>Participate and take on leading roles within industry groups such as Tire & Rim, RMA, SAE, and ASTM.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Knowledge and Skills</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Effective written and oral communication skills.</li>\n <li>Strong technical, analytic and problem solving skills.</li>\n <li>Proficient in the use of engineering software tools such as 3D CAD programs, Matlab, statistical software and Microsoft Office.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education and Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Minimum of 6-8 Years of Tire Development Experience or Equivalent.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Physical Requirements</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods of time while working on a computer.</li>\n <li>Ability to repeat motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers</li>\n <li>Occasionally work indoors in a warehouse environment where temperature regulation may be inconsistent, and where there is exposure to noise, and machinery.</li>\n <li>Employees must possess the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, pull and move materials and objects weighing up to 40 pounds.</li>\n</ul>",
