    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities & Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The ​SQL Database Manager is expected to be able to accomplish the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Engineering & Administration:</strong> Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances (on‑prem and/or cloud), including HA/DR (Always On Availability Groups, log shipping), backup/restore, patching, and capacity planning. </li>\n <li><strong>Performance & Reliability: </strong>Monitor and tune databases—index strategy, execution plans, I/O and memory optimization; implement baselines and health dashboards. </li>\n <li><strong>Data Lifecycle Management:</strong> Oversee schema changes, environment promotions, and release coordination through change management (Dev/Test/Prod) with version control and automation. </li>\n <li><strong>Security & Compliance:</strong> Implement and audit RBAC, encryption at rest/in transit, auditing, and STIG‑driven hardening aligned to DoD policies and tenant security guidelines for TS/SCI environments. </li>\n <li><strong>Scripting & Automation: </strong>Build administrative scripts (T‑SQL, PowerShell) for maintenance, compliance checks, and repeatable deployments. </li>\n <li><strong>Continuity & DR:</strong> Define and test RPO/RTO objectives; validate backups, restores, and failover procedures through regular exercises. </li>\n <li><strong>Data Quality & Integrity:</strong> Enforce standards, validate ETL jobs, and coordinate with application teams to remediate data issues. </li>\n <li><strong>Collaboration & Support:</strong> Partner with application owners, cybersecurity, network, and storage teams; provide Tier 3 escalation support and on‑call rotation coverage as required. </li>\n <li><strong>Documentation: </strong>Maintain SOPs, runbooks, architecture diagrams, CM plans, and ATO evidence artifacts. </li>\n <li><strong>Reporting:</strong> Provide capacity, performance, vulnerability, and compliance reporting to program leadership. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>  </p>\n<p><strong><u>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Active TS/SCI + CI Poly clearance</li>\n <li>BS, 5-7 years of relevant experience; MS, 3-5 years; PhD, 0-3 years</li>\n <li>One of the following DoD 8570/ CS-DAT-421 certifications:\n  <ul>\n   <li>CISSP (Preferred) </li>\n   <li>CASP+ </li>\n   <li>GCED </li>\n   <li>CISA </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (2016+), TSQL, backup/restore strategies, high availability, and performance tuning.  </li>\n <li>Experience with PowerShell for automation and administrative scripting.  </li>\n <li>Hands on with change management, SDLC environments, and release governance in a secure enterprise. </li>\n <li>Familiarity with STIG/hardening practices, auditing, and security controls applicable to DoD environments. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP300)  </li>\n <li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP203)  </li>\n <li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ104) </li>\n <li>CompTIA Security+ </li>\n <li>ITIL® Foundation </li>\n <li>Microsoft PowerShell  </li>\n <li>Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Azure Kubernetes Service experience  </li>\n <li>Security+ CE </li>\n <li>RMF Training (DoD 8510) </li>\n <li>STIG implementation training </li>\n <li>Azure DevOps </li>\n <li>PowerShell certification </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>We are seeking a ​SQL Database Manager ​ to join our Task Order proposal on the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise III (SITE III). The ​SQL Database Manager ​ oversees the design, implementation, security, performance, and lifecycle maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server environments supporting DIA mission systems. The role combines hands‑on database engineering and administration with stakeholder engagement, change control, and compliance within a highly secure enterprise.
