If so, we’d love to meet you!</p>\n<p>The Crystal Lake Park District is seeking a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Beach Director</span> to lead overall beach operations and provide hands-on leadership throughout the aquatics season. This role blends supervision, operations, safety, and customer service—perfect for someone who enjoys both leadership and being in the action.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">🕒 <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work Schedule</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Aquatics Pre-Season (February 2 – April 30)</span><br>• Approximately 4–10 hours per week</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Aquatics Season (May 1 – September 1)</span><br>• Approximately 40 hours per week<br>• Weekends and holidays are required, including <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekends</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Aquatics Post-Season (September 1 – September 30)</span><br>• Approximately 10 hours per week</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">🌟 What You’ll Do</span></p>\n<p>As the Beach Director, you’ll oversee all aspects of beach operations, including:</p>\n<p>• Leading daily operations for front gate services, office functions, boat rentals, picnic reservations, swim and sailing lessons, and special events.<br>• Serving as the primary point of contact for beach-related concerns, incidents, and emergencies.<br>• Supporting hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of aquatic staff.<br>• Coordinating and leading pre-season and in-season staff trainings.<br>• Managing lifeguard services, audits, and spot checks.<br>• Overseeing cash handling, internal controls, and daily banking.<br>• Promoting a safe, welcoming, and team-focused environment for guests and staff.<br>• Communicating policies, procedures, and updates clearly and consistently.<br>• Supporting swim programs, special events, and daily facility needs.<br>• Maintaining required reports, logs, and documentation.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>You’ll also step in as needed to support Beach Managers, Swim Lesson Instructors, or Lifeguards' duties and represent the Aquatics department at special events.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">🎓 Qualifications</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Education &amp; Experience</span></p>\n<p>• High School Diploma or equivalent required<br>• Must be 21 years of age or older<br>• Minimum 3 years of aquatic facility experience required<br>• 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred<br>• Lifeguard Instructor experience preferred</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Certifications</span></p>\n<p>Must possess or be able to obtain:<br>• StarGuard Lifeguard Instructor Certification<br>• StarGuard ELITE Supervisor Certification<br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Skills &amp; Competencies</span></p>\n<p>• Strong leadership, judgment, and decision-making skills<br>• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities<br>• Demonstrated knowledge of cash handling and financial accountability<br>• Effective verbal and written communication skills<br>• Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn software such as Outlook, Word, Excel, WhenToWork, and RecTrac<br>• Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Other Requirements</span></p>\n<p>• Valid driver’s license and current car insurance</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Crystal Lake Park District is an Equal Opportunity employer.  Click <a href=\"https://www.crystallakeparks.org/upload/BenefitsOutline.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here</a> for our outline of benefit offerings.  </span></p>\n<p><br></p>",
