As Armstrong continues to grow in manufacturing capacity and efficiency, we are looking for a dependable and hard-working individual who will be responsible for machining our products, contributing ideas to improve efficiencies, and adhering to all health and safety policies and best practices.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This position is based out of Scarborough, Ontario.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key accountabilities of this position are</span>:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for setup and operation of CNC Lathe and Mill machinery</li>\n<li>Machine product to specified requirements as defined on Job Travelers, Drawings, and Sketches. Must be able to read blueprints and various symbols regarding tolerances, surface finishes, etc.</li>\n<li>Pre-inspection of parts to ensure product compliance is achievable prior to metal removal process.</li>\n<li>Verify tooling requirements are met in advanced of the commencement of each job. Escalate any issues/concerns to supervisor.</li>\n<li>Machine product at optimal conditions to maintain cost effectiveness of machining process.</li>\n<li>Ability to read and understand programs to a degree that will allow you to modify / edit to meet specified tolerances and surface finishes.</li>\n<li>Enter codes specifying speeds, feed and cut of the tool path for CNC machine tools</li>\n<li>Maintain tooling in peak conditions.</li>\n<li>Verify dimensions of parts machined using precision measuring instruments as required.</li>\n<li>Practice excellent general housekeeping, including but not limited to, his/her work area, chip removal, floor areas, benches, storage areas to ensure a safe work environment.</li>\n<li>Perform daily machine checks per preventative maintenance program and safety procedures.</li>\n<li>Use of overhead crane to setup and move parts.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We're Looking For</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>To thrive in this role, you should bring:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 5-years' CNC Machining experience, consisting of machine setup &amp; operation</li>\n<li>General machinist certification an asset.</li>\n<li>Working experience with large casings &amp; fabricated components</li>\n<li>An analytical approach to machining of product.</li>\n<li>Ability to read &amp; interpret blueprints, drawings, charts &amp; tables.</li>\n<li>A motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.</li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.</li>\n<li>Previous experience working with overhead cranes considered an asset.</li>\n<li>Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures.</li>\n<li>Strong, team-oriented skills with the ability to work independently</li>\n<li>Excellent communication, both written and verbal, in English</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Range: $20-$23/hour</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Why Armstrong Fluid Technology?</span></p>\n<p><span>By joining us, you’ll become part of a global community dedicated to pushing the boundaries of fluid-flow technology.
