Description
Ready to make a difference? Our employees design, integrate, and test next-generation electronic warfare and mission data capabilities supporting United States Air Force operational requirements and international partners. You will work alongside experienced engineers, operators, and mission-data specialists solving complex electronic warfare challenges in support of modern air combat operations.
Our team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join as an on-site Technical Support Engineer supporting the 36th Electronic Warfare Squadron (36 EWS) at Eglin AFB, Florida. The qualified candidate will provide on-site technical support, hardware/software integration, mission data support, and engineering coordination for F-15 electronic warfare systems and associated intelligence mission planning research.
The primary responsibility of this full-time role will be to support consistent and effective product delivery and Hardware/Software support for critical Electronic Warfare systems supporting F-15 mission data generation, electronic countermeasures, radar warning receiver (RWR), and mission planning operations. The engineer will support daily operations of the 36 EWS and provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for technical requirements development, mission data integration, system checkouts, and operational support activities.
This role will also troubleshoot on-site product issues, provide BAE engineering reach back, support/recommend product and system improvements, support Root Cause Corrective Analysis activities, and provide status updates to program leadership and government stakeholders.
The Engineer must display strong interpersonal communication skills, work as a member of a dedicated engineering team, and build technical relationships within the 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing community to include government customers, operational users, co-contractors, and program leadership. The successful candidate is expected to represent the company in a professional manner and possess a strong ability to articulate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.
This position may require system-level training in New Hampshire and travel to operational and test locations in support of mission requirements.
Additional Responsibilities Include : Extensive outside contact with customers, contractors, and government officials. Technical interface to customer organizations, PMOs, and executive leadership. Understanding operational requirements, missions, use cases, and system constraints. Management of technical risks and issues including impact assessment, mitigation planning, and closure activities. Support to customers by providing technical coordination between Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), training events, operational test activities, and system integration efforts. Preparing and delivering technical presentations, training, and status briefings. Frequent travel to support program and operational requirements. Technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation activities. Evaluating alternatives including cost, risk, supportability, and operational effectiveness analyses. Analyses performed across the total system lifecycle to include concept, design, fabrication, integration, test, operation, maintenance, and sustainment. Translating customer operational requirements into hardware/software specifications. Performing engineering tasks associated with Electronic Warfare mission planning and reprogramming support requirements. Supporting mission data development, validation, and operational integration activities. Supporting digital engineering, mission-data modernization, and future Electronic Warfare architecture initiatives. Coordinating with operational test organizations, various reprogramming laboratories, and mission-data stakeholders across multiple aircraft platforms.
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems customer facility 100% of the time.
