    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Overview</strong></p><p>We&rsquo;re seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to work closely with the Underwriting Manager to ensure all loan files are complete, accurate, and meet company and regulatory guidelines. This remote position requires strong communication skills, sound independent judgment, and technical proficiency in mortgage underwriting.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Apply internal loan approval policies and investor guidelines during the underwriting process.</li><li>Accurately calculate Loan-to-Value (LTV) and Debt-to-Income (DTI) ratios.</li><li>Approve loans that meet company standards and document any conditions for closing.</li><li>Outline all closing conditions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and complete file documentation.</li><li>Conduct a holistic evaluation of each borrower&rsquo;s profile, assessing beyond isolated figures to understand the full credit picture.</li><li>Collaborate with the Underwriting Manager to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality in underwriting decisions.</li><li>Exercise sound decision-making discretion in complex or borderline cases.</li><li>Ensure all required fields are filled and supporting documentation is included</li><li>Communicate clear conditions for approval</li><li>Work with processing and closing teams to ensure continued collaboration</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><article dir=\"auto\"><strong>Qualifications:</strong><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Minimum of 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience with FHA, Conventional, and VA loan products</li><li>DE (Direct Endorsement) Certification required</li><li>VA LAPP/SAR Certification preferred</li><li>Experience with USDA loans preferred</li><li>Proven experience underwriting both manually underwritten and AUS (DU/LP) decisioned government loans</li><li>Proficiency with Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Product Advisor (LP) required</li><li>Experience using Encompass Loan Origination System preferred</li><li>Strong understanding of investor and agency guidelines, credit risk, and compliance standards</li><li>Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with sales teams, processors, and other operational partners</li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills</li><li>High level of accuracy, integrity, and sound judgment in underwriting decisions</li><li>Must be capable of working independently in a remote and/or office environment</li></ul></article></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
