Through educational programming, language revitalization, arts, and community collaboration, GHF fosters Indigenous knowledge and strengthens cultural identity for current and future generations. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>The Lingít Language Program Intern is a paid, part-time internship opportunity designed for college students interested in Indigenous language revitalization, education, linguistics, or Alaska Native Studies. The intern will support the GHF Lingít Language Department with program coordination, language documentation, curriculum support, and community-based language activities. This internship emphasizes hands-on learning, mentorship, and professional development while contributing meaningfully to ongoing language revitalization efforts.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position is 100% grant-funded, contingent upon continued funding across multiple sources.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Necessary Skills & Knowledge:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong organizational skills</li>\n <li>Ability to commit to scheduled hours</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Currently enrolled in a college or university</li>\n <li>Any experience with the Lingít language</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Low-intermediate or higher proficiency in the Lingít language</li>\n <li>Coursework in linguistics, education, Indigenous studies, or languages</li>\n <li>Experience with transcription or documentation</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Internship Parameters:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maximum of 500 hours over 12 months</li>\n <li>Flexible scheduling, start and end dates</li>\n <li>Paid internship; no guarantee of future employment</li>\n <li>Willing to work with the reporting requirements of the college to facilitate credit-earning</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $22.00 hourly.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Functions:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Language Program Support\n  <ul>\n   <li>Assist with Lingít language classes, workshops, and immersion activities</li>\n   <li>Support language documentation efforts, including organizing recordings and transcription assistance</li>\n   <li>Help prepare and format language learning materials</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Language & Community Engagement\n  <ul>\n   <li>Support intergenerational language learning activities</li>\n   <li>Assist with community language events and cultural gatherings</li>\n   <li>Engage respectfully with Lingít cultural knowledge</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Administrative & Project Support\n  <ul>\n   <li>Assist with scheduling, recordkeeping, and file organization</li>\n   <li>Support data collection for program tracking and reporting</li>\n   <li>Collaborate on special projects as assigned</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Learning Objectives & Professional Development\n  <ul>\n   <li>Gain experience in Indigenous language revitalization</li>\n   <li>Learn community-based language documentation practices</li>\n   <li>Develop professional nonprofit skills</li>\n   <li>Receive mentorship from language professionals</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Community & Cultural Integration\n  <ul>\n   <li>Work collaboratively with Elders, local educators, language experts, speakers, learners, and supporters</li>\n   <li>Assist in coordinating community events, language gatherings, and language initiatives</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>",
