    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Anticipated Hiring Range: </strong>$15.16 - $21.75 Hourly</p><p><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p><p>The City of Greeley is looking for Groundskeepers to ensures Island Grove Park and Arena facilities are maintained and standards are met regarding the maintenance of park amenities, and overall curb appeal. &nbsp; This individual will work with a diverse team on park and facility maintenance, projects and event maintenance including events like the&nbsp;Greeley Stampede, the Weld County Fair and large dog shows.&nbsp;</p><p>The Groundskeeper role is a hands-on, hardworking individual who will deal with a large number public and private events. The City relies on the Groundskeeper to follow safety protocols, while being responsive, thorough, and resourceful go-getter with a customer focused mindset.</p><p>Scheduling for this position varies and may include working evenings, weekends, and holidays, as followed by State and Federal law.</p><p><i>Must be able to work nights and weekends for special events such as Greeley Blues Jam, Stampede, The Weld County Fair as well as National, Regional and local Dog Shows.</i></p><p><i>This is a continuous posting and can be closed at any time.</i></p><p><strong>Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:</strong></p><p>Minimum Requirements:</p><p style=\"line-height:normal;\">Minimum Qualifications - Entry Level</p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;\">Minimal to no previous groundskeeping experience required</li><li style=\"line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;\">Must be 16 years of age or older</li><li style=\"line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;\">Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record</li></ul><p style=\"line-height:normal;\">Minimum Qualifications - Experienced&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;\">One (1) year groundskeeping, parks, or athletic field maintenance experience</li><li style=\"line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;\">Must be 18 years of age or older</li><li style=\"line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;\">Possess a valid driver’s license held for a minimum of two (2) years with a good driving record</li></ul><p>Preferred</p><ul><li>None</li></ul><p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p><ul><li>Ability to assist in proper loading and securement of equipment in the field.</li><li>Ability to operate small equipment such as weed eater, edger and backpack blower.</li><li>Ability to safely operate riding mower equipment up to 6’ wide.</li><li>Knowledge of basic carpentry, basic plumbing and basic electrical.</li><li>(Experienced) Operates large area turf mowers from 72” wide to 16’ wide, including preventative daily maintenance and upkeep of equipment for Level IIs.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to clean and maintain mowing equipment.</li><li>Ability to see and maneuver around obstacles in the path of travel during mowing operations.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work outside under widely varying environmental conditions.</li><li>Ability to safely operate and perform the duties required of the position.</li><li>Knowledge of incident response and handling methodologies.</li><li>Customer service skills, including the ability to actively listen, address customer needs, defuse tense situations, and maintain an open, flexible, and friendly demeanor.</li><li>Ability to respond to requests in a timely manner.</li><li>Ability to effectively collaborate with team members.</li><li>Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and stay on task when completing special projects and daily assignments.</li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and reliable professional judgment, as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve desired results.</li><li>Ability to maintain a strong work ethic, positive problem-solving attitude, and enthusiasm for the work performed.</li><li>Ability to self-start and take initiative in completing daily tasks and special projects.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><p>Entry Level</p><ul><li>Cleans and stocks restrooms&nbsp;daily.</li><li>General Park, turf and Event maintenance.</li><li>Cleans and removes debris from shelters and turf areas.</li><li>Empties trash receptacles regularly throughout assigned areas.</li><li>Assists with repairs and maintenance of playgrounds, shelters.</li><li>Pulls weeds in landscape beds.</li><li>Performs hand watering and simple water valve operation for lawns and landscape beds.</li><li>Plants and prunes forestry-related or horticultural maintenance.</li><li>Cleans and maintains Right of Way medians and tree lawns.</li><li>Operates small equipment such as weed eater, edger and backpack blower.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>Experienced</p><ul><li>Must be able to perform all duties of grounds keeper (entry level).</li><li>Assists in proper loading and securement of equipment in the field.</li><li>Performs basic irrigation tasks, including routine sprinkler tests, hand watering, sprinkler clock and zone adjustments.</li><li>Assists with herbicide application and other more technical weed management tasks.</li><li>Performs more technical irrigation work to include mainline, lateral repair, system redesign, and valve replacements.</li><li>Applies fertilizer, pesticide, and insecticide chemical applications using manual and ride-on spreaders, handheld and backpack sprayers.</li><li>Operates riding mower and heavy equipment such as skid steer and loader.</li><li>Repairs and maintains picnic tables and split rail fencing.</li><li>Maintains outdoor facilities for reservations.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;Work Environment and&nbsp;Physical Requirements:</p><ul><li>Exposure to high traffic areas in medians and right-or-ways.</li><li>Work outside with exposure to all weather elements.</li><li>Long periods of time involved in planting, hand weeding and maintaining grounds using a shovel, rake and other tools.</li><li>Hours may be flexible depending on assigned area, 32-40 hours per wk.
