Specifically, the Buyer is responsible for purchasing and negotiation of materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. These activities include but are not limited to: acting as the liaison at all levels between corporate, estimating, engineering, jobsites, remote offices, and services/spare parts and coordinating activities with manufacturing, engineering, sales and accounting.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>Other responsibilities</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Approves the choice of vendors and authorizes purchase orders based on business needs</li>\n <li>Research, identify and evaluate potential vendors and facilitate vendor selection</li>\n <li>Estimates fabricated mechanical and electrical components for entire organization</li>\n <li>Follow internal control procurement policies and procedures</li>\n <li>Develop specific annual purchasing objectives for assigned areas including cost reduction and quality improvement</li>\n <li>Prepares detailed cost tables to justify bidding, outsourcing and budgetary goals, and documentation to support budgetary and estimating requirements</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as directed</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer literacy is a requirement.
