As an OSUP employee, you will be eligible for these various benefits depending on your employment status.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Purpose:</strong>   </p>\n<p>The Medical Assistant roles assist with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol.  Assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients. </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Room patients, measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.</li>\n <li>Complete patient interview and history.</li>\n <li>Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.</li>\n <li>May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.</li>\n <li>Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.</li>\n <li>Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:</p>\n<p>• A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR• Military Medic training OR• EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferences:</strong></p>\n<p>• Medical Assistant Certification</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>At OSU Physicians, Inc., we recognize the value of acquiring a certification in medical assisting. Therefore, our Certified MAs receive additional compensation for getting and maintaining this certificate!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Not certified? No worries - use our tuition reimbursement program to help cover the costs that come with certification.</p>\n<h2>Pay Range</h2>USD $17.84 - USD $28.75 /Hr.",
