Description

Turning Point Re-entry Workforce Planning Specialist Summary This position works to bridge the gap between incarceration and employment for justice-involved individuals. These specialists are responsible for developing individualized employment plans, building industry partnerships, and providing career coaching to help returning citizens secure stable jobs. The Workforce Planning Specialist reports directly to the Turning Point Re-Entry Program Manager. Position Type Non-Exempt/Full Time Essential Functions 1. Case Management & Planning: Developing individualized employment, training, and education plans, often developing individualized employment, training, and education plans, often starting within 1 month of a person’s release. 2. Job Development & Placement: Building networks with employers to create job opportunities, apprenticeships, or pre-apprenticeship programs specifically for justice-involved individuals. 3. Pre-Release Services: Conducting assessments, workshops, and training on work readiness, resume building, and interview preparation with correctional facilities. 4. Post-Release Support: Assisting with job retention, providing ongoing coaching, and helping with immediate needs like obtaining identification documents. 5. Partnership Building: Collaborating with community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, and American Job Centers. 6. Analysis of Data: Keep accurate progress notes and monthly reviews in accordance with the client’s treatment plan. 7. Any other duties assigned. Competencies 1. Communication Proficiency 2. Problem Management Supervisory Responsibility N/A Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree preferred in social service, criminal justice, or a related discipline. Proficient in computer skills, ability to work as a team, and have good interpersonal skills. Good organizational and communication skills are necessary. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit, use hands, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee can sometimes be exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
