Position Details
Position: Certified Midwife
Department: Ashe Women & Children's Health
Reports To: Practice Manager / Supervising Physician
Status: Full-Time | Exempt
Location: On-site in Jefferson, NC
Compensation: Pay commensurate with experience
Position Summary
The Certified Midwife provides comprehensive women’s healthcare services including prenatal, postpartum, gynecologic, and preventative care while supporting continuity of care between patient visits. This position works collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care for women across the lifespan.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, clinically confident, and committed to providing exceptional care to women, infants, and families in both routine and emergent situations.

Adolescents (13–18 years)
Adult women’s health patients
Obstetric patients (antepartum and postpartum)

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Completion of an accredited Nurse Midwife Program required
Completion of Lactation Educator Training Program preferred
Licensure & Certifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of North Carolina required
Current Nurse Midwife license in the State of North Carolina required
Current BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
PALS certification required
NRP certification required
Experience
Previous healthcare experience preferred
Skills & Qualifications
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Basic computer proficiency required
Strong patient and guest relations skills
Ability to function effectively in stressful and emergency situations
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
