Description

Overview Fueling Brains Education Services provides early intervention programming for children accessing Program Unit Funding (PUF) and Mild/Moderate (MM) supports across multiple Academy locations in Calgary and Strathmore. This is not a traditional therapy role. Our multidisciplinary model combines relationship-based intervention, collaborative care, and whole-child development to create an environment where clinicians can focus on what matters most: supporting children, partnering with families, and making a meaningful impact. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our growing team in a Therapy Lead capacity. This role blends direct pediatric speech-language therapy with leadership responsibilities supporting clinical quality, mentorship, and coordinated service delivery across campuses. Clinical Service Delivery Complete pediatric speech and language assessments to identify communication needs and guide intervention planning Develop and implement individualized therapy goals and treatment plans Provide evidence-based speech-language therapy using play-based, neurodevelopmental, and relationship-focused approaches Support development in: Receptive and expressive language Articulation and phonological awareness Social communication and pragmatic language Early literacy and communication readiness Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), when appropriate Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and goal updates Provide coaching, consultation, and strategies to educators and caregivers 2. Leadership & Program Coordination Coordinate and support speech-language services across multiple campuses Mentor and support in-house SLPs, therapy assistants, and contracted clinicians Assist with caseload planning, scheduling, and service delivery coordination Monitor therapy deliverables, timelines, and compliance requirements Collaborate with leadership regarding staffing needs, service quality, and program outcomes Promote consistency in therapy practices, documentation standards, and interdisciplinary communication Participate in program development and continuous quality improvement initiatives 3. Collaboration & Family Partnerships Collaborate closely with families, teachers, psychologists, occupational therapists, and multidisciplinary team members Build strong relationships with families and maintain ongoing communication regarding student progress and goals Participate in team meetings, collaborative planning, and professional development activities Support onboarding and ongoing collaboration of therapy staff and contractors 4. Student Development & Inclusive Practice Support children with diverse developmental and communication needs within inclusive learning environments Foster communication growth, confidence, independence, and school readiness skills Maintain current knowledge of best practices and Alberta ECS/PUF programming requirements Contribute to a positive, supportive, and child-centered therapeutic environment Required Skills and Qualifications Education Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Active registration and good standing with ACSLPA Experience Experience providing pediatric speech-language assessment and intervention Experience working within early intervention, preschool, ECS, or school-based settings preferred Experience supervising therapy assistants or support staff is considered an asset Knowledge of Alberta PUF/MM programming and inclusive education practices is considered an asset Key Skills Strong leadership, organizational, and collaboration skills Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams Child-centered and family-focused approach to intervention Ability to manage caseloads, documentation, and timelines effectively Passion for early childhood development and inclusive education Work Environment Requirements Therapy-based role supporting multiple Fueling Brains Academy locations Collaborative multidisciplinary environment involving educators, therapists, assistants, and families Combination of direct clinical intervention, consultation, leadership, and program coordination responsibilities Active, hands-on role involving movement, interaction, and engagement with young children Travel between Calgary and Strathmore campuses required Additional Requirements Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle Current and clear Police Information Check Ability to work a 10-month contract (August 2026 –June 2027), aligned with the school calendar Willingness to participate in onboarding, collaboration, and professional development initiatives Fueling Brains Education Services is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace where all employees feel valued and supported.
