    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\">HeplerBroom LLC, a large defense firm, is hiring for a experienced insurance coverage attorney for its Chicago-based insurance coverage practice. &nbsp;Candidates must have <strong>a minimum of 5 years&rsquo; experience in first-party insurance coverage litigation.</strong>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Duties include:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Assist with management of a thriving insurance coverage practice, based in the firm&rsquo;s Chicago office, but with cases throughout the Midwest;</li><li>Oversight of junior associates on the assigned files;</li><li>Actively own in the defense and prosecution of coverage matters from case inception through trial;</li><li>The successful candidate will have an established understanding of first-party insurance coverage, with an emphasis on property insurance;</li><li>Regularly conduct 30(b)(6) depositions, as well as the depositions of insureds, public adjusters, engineers and building contractors. &nbsp;</li><li>Conduct examinations under oath, along with ancillary legal research and author coverage opinions to both claims adjusting personnel and in-house counsel;</li><li>Defense of coverage and extracontractual liability matters in state and federal courts, as well as the prosecution of declaratory judgment matters on issues of insurance coverage;</li><li>Oversight and advice of counsel to claims personnel and in-house counsel on property insurance appraisals;</li></ul><p><strong>This position requires:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Licensure in both the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, or other applicable federal district court;</li><li>A minimum of five (5) years of applicable first-party coverage experience;</li><li>Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to supervise junior associates, manage files and report directly to clients.</li><li>Ability to provide writing samples prior to interview, including applicable deposition transcripts and motions;</li><li>Strong research and analytical skills;&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Why HeplerBroom?</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Compensation: The firm offers a total compensation package of competitive salary, bonus, and benefits. &nbsp;The total annual compensation range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000. &nbsp;Commensurate with achieving billable and realization targets, total annual compensation for this position could exceed $200,000.
