The Boiler Operator is one of five or more crew members performing trenchless sewer/storm line rehabilitation and repair of municipal, industrial, storm and sanitary sewer lines. The Boiler Operator drives the boiler truck/trailer to the work site and operates the boiler to heat lines with water or steam after installation</p><p><u>Essential Job Accountabilities:</u></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li><strong>Maintain CDL Class A license; drive the boiler truck/tractor-trailer.&nbsp;</strong> &nbsp;</li><li>Operate associated sewer equipment, generators and power tools; maintain secure control, upkeep and serviceability of assigned equipment.&nbsp;</li><li>Comply with Company Safety Policies/Procedures, DOT regulations, equipment safety specifications and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).&nbsp;</li><li>Conduct pre and post operation vehicle and equipment inspections, perform daily operator level maintenance on Boiler, Tractor/Truck, and report maintenance/service requirements.</li><li>Assist crew with collective tasks; install site preparation, line installation, and cleanup of site as directed by Foreman.</li><li>Perform boiler pre-fire steps and position boiler within constraints of installation site.&nbsp;</li><li>Identify the correct curing pressure for the line and follow curing schedule.</li><li>Monitor gauges, track temperature/pressure, attend to problems and ensure consistency throughout the curing process.</li><li>Perform below ground confined space work; preparing line for installation and cutting cured line to fit and seal system.</li><li>Operate safety equipment; air monitor, fall protection/retrieval system, traffic management equipment, PPE.</li><li>Perform collateral responsibilities as &ldquo;Top Man&rdquo;; fill out confined space permit, lower &amp; retrieve crew members into/from manholes and safeguard crew members conducting below ground confined space work.</li><li>Work in outdoor field conditions in all ranges of weather and temperature.</li><li>Other duties as assigned. &nbsp;</li></ul><p><u>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</u></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>High school education or equivalent preferred.</li><li>Must possess, or obtain within 90 days of hire, a CDL with HAZMAT and required endorsements.</li><li>Experience working in construction environment, preferably with water or sewer utilities.
