    "description": "<p>SSCertified Trained Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>A MLT/MT is responsible for providing efficient and friendly customer service while collecting blood samples. MT/MLT' must  also be knowledgable in basic laboratory and safety protocols.  </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Expected Duties:</span></span></p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently.</li>\n<li>Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment, including analyzers and microscopes.</li>\n<li>Prepare and analyze blood, urine, and other specimens following standard protocols.</li>\n<li>Ensure all testing is completed within established time frames and meets quality standards.</li>\n<li>Record and verify test results in the laboratory information system (LIS).</li>\n<li>Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.</li>\n<li>Follow all laboratory safety and infection control protocols.</li>\n<li>Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to address testing inquiries or concerns.</li>\n<li>Be able to explain blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process</li>\n<li>Collect blood samples from patients (venipuncture)</li>\n<li>Practice proper patient identification</li>\n<li>Label vials with patient names and dates</li>\n<li>Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient</li>\n<li>Process any and all samples </li>\n<li>Expect to work with a large number of patients varying in age and health status</li>\n<li>Be friendly, courteous and sympathetic when it comes to working with patients</li>\n<li>Keep your phlebotomy cart or station well-organized at all times</li>\n<li>Practice infection control standards at all times when working with patients and equipment</li>\n<li>Perform CLIA waived tests accurately and efficiently</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Qualifications:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.</span></li>\n<li>Certification or eligibility for certification by a recognized accrediting agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT) is preferred.</li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.</li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.</li>\n<li>Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.</li>\n<li>Strong communication and teamwork abilities.</li>\n<li>Prior laboratory experience (internships, externships, or coursework) is a plus but not required. </li>\n<li>Advanced written and verbal communication skills</li>\n<li>Data entry and computer skills</li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail</li>\n<li>Ability to walk 2 flights of stairs throughout the day</li>\n<li>Ability to successfully draw blood from patients with minimal or no complications</li>\n<li>Empathy and interpersonal skills for working with patients</li>\n<li>Detail-oriented and committed to ensuring patient confidentiality</li>\n<li>Excellent motor skills and the ability to stand for long periods of time</li>\n<li>Advanced written and verbal communication skills</li>\n<li>Data entry and computer skills</li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail</li>\n<li>Ability to walk 2 flights of stairs throughout the day</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>",
