This position serves as the primary link between vessel crew, offshore platforms, and shore base logistics teams to ensure proper cargo planning, vessel stability, and operational safety.</em></p>\n<p><em>The Deck Coordinator plays a critical role in offshore logistics by managing cargo movement, inspecting backloads, coordinating crane operations, and maintaining safe deck operations in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.</em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<h3><strong>Cargo Planning & Coordination</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Develop and execute cargo loading and unloading plans for ports and offshore installations.</p></li>\n <li><p>Coordinate daily with:</p>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>Marine vessel crew</p></li>\n   <li><p>Offshore platform materials coordinators</p></li>\n   <li><p>Shore base logistics personnel</p></li>\n   <li><p>Crane operators</p></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><p>Prioritize safety-critical and time-sensitive cargo movements.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ensure efficient cargo flow while maintaining vessel stability requirements.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Backload Inspection & Compliance</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Inspect all returning cargo (backload) prior to loading, including:</p>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>Leak detection</p></li>\n   <li><p>Contamination risks</p></li>\n   <li><p>Proper labeling and classification</p></li>\n   <li><p>Clean vs. dirty cargo segregation</p></li>\n   <li><p>Sling certification validity and condition</p></li>\n   <li><p>Rigging integrity and damage assessment</p></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><p>Prevent unsafe or non-compliant cargo from being loaded onto the vessel.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Deck Operations Coordination</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Work closely with deck crew to ensure safe cargo handling operations.</p></li>\n <li><p>Establish safe crane landing zones.</p></li>\n <li><p>Verify proper sling and strop selection.</p></li>\n <li><p>Maintain clear communication with crane operators during lifts.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ensure the deck remains clean, organized, and hazard-free.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Banksman Duties</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>Serve as the primary Banksman during cargo operations.</p></li>\n   <li><p>Direct crane movements using approved hand signals and radio communication.</p></li>\n   <li><p>Maintain safe work zones and monitor personnel positioning.</p></li>\n   <li><p>Provide clear communication between crane operators and deck crew.</p></li>\n   <li><p>Stop operations immediately if unsafe conditions exist.</p></li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Experience in offshore marine operations, cargo handling, or logistics coordination preferred.</p></li>\n <li><p>Knowledge of offshore cargo regulations, lifting procedures, and safety standards.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to interpret cargo plans and maintain vessel stability awareness.</p></li>\n <li><p>Strong communication and coordination skills.</p></li>\n <li><p>Working knowledge of rigging, slings, and lifting equipment inspection.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to work safely in a dynamic offshore environment.</p></li>\n <li><p>Banksman or lifting operations certification preferred.</p></li>\n <li><p>Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.</p></li>\n</ul>",
