Description

You became a BCBA to change lives—let’s make that change where it matters most. WHY THRIVE THERAPIES BCBAs are rare, in-demand, and often burnt out — managing overwhelming caseloads, clinic schedules that don't fit school calendars, or isolated in districts where your clinical expertise is undervalued. Thrive recognizes that exceptional behavior analysis in schools is transformational. We partner with forward-thinking districts that prioritize behavior-change outcomes, invest in RBT teams, and give BCBAs clinical autonomy and reasonable supervision ratios. You won't manage 100 students; you'll work with curated caseloads where your functional behavior assessments and behavior plans actually drive change. You'll supervise well-trained RBTs who collect reliable data — and have time for classroom consultation, staff training, and behavior systems development. POSITION SUMMARY As a School-Based BCBA, you lead behavior-change initiatives for students with autism spectrum disorder, emotional disturbance, and complex behavioral challenges. You conduct functional behavior assessments, design behavior intervention plans, supervise RBTs, manage clinical data systems, and collaborate with special education leadership to embed evidence-based behavior support across the school. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBAs) including indirect assessment, direct observation, hypothesis development, and behavior function analysis Develop individualized, data-driven behavior intervention plans (BIPs) with measurable goals, evidence-based procedures, and ongoing progress monitoring protocols Supervise, train, and mentor RBTs: provide regular supervision meetings, review session data, ensure treatment fidelity, and support professional development Manage RBT-to-BCBA caseload ratios with clearly documented supervision protocols and data accountability Conduct staff training on ABA, behavior intervention implementation, crisis de-escalation, and positive classroom management Participate in IEP meetings: provide behavior assessment findings, present BIP recommendations, and monitor progress Contribute to school-wide positive behavior support (PBS) and MTSS framework development REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board State licensure or registration as a behavior analyst where required Minimum 2 years of direct experience implementing and supervising ABA-based interventions Proof of immunization status and background check clearance per school district requirements PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of school-based behavior analysis or RBT-supervision experience Experience with FBA and BIP development in school contexts Experience with school-wide positive behavior support (PBS) and MTSS Training in autism spectrum disorder and complex behavioral presentations COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Competitive W-2 salary: $75,000–$100,000 based on credentials, experience, and location Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision) effective your first day 401(k) with company match 10 days PTO + paid sick leave Professional development stipend ($2,000+ annually) for CEUs, conferences, and certifications $2,000 sign-on bonus (paid at 90 days) $1,000 semester retention bonus per semester completed BCBA certification (BACB) dues and state licensure fees fully reimbursed Malpractice and professional liability coverage provided by Thrive No non-compete clause — we earn your loyalty by being a place worth staying
