Overview Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a leading Environmental Mining Practitioner to join our business in Burnaby, British Columbia . We are seeking a subject matter expert who is eager to win and deliver cutting-edge and challenging projects, with deep environmental management and closure expertise in the mining sector. Geosyntec is an innovative, international engineering and consulting firm serving private and public-sector clients to address new ventures and complex problems involving our environment, natural resources, and civil infrastructure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Business development, including securing new clients, fostering long-term client relationships, leading proposal preparation, and developing and executing a strategic business development plan. Leading meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders to drive project success. Project management, including planning and executing projects, managing budgets and schedules, ensuring quality and client satisfaction, and driving profitability. Occasional mentoring and leadership of senior, mid-career, and junior staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth. Managing work to meet contract schedules, regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and high standards of care. Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals that reflect innovation and technical excellence. Occasional fieldwork as required by the Company. Education and Licensure Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, science, or a related field of study (required) Advanced degree in a related field of study (desirable but not essential) Professional registration (desirable but not essential) Skills, Experience and Qualifications At least 15 years of relevant consulting or client-side experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) Extensive expertise in mining regulatory frameworks and environmental management, including permitting and ESG (required) Experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams. (required) Demonstrated success in client development and management. (required) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and traveling to client sites as needed. (required) Valid Canadian driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) Below is the range that we in good faith believe is the potential compensation for this role at the time of this posting and is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees.
