You will be essential in ensuring that individuals are supported in a person-centered manner, promoting reassurance, stability, and support to both team members and those they support. This role is crucial during long-term openings or when additional staffing is needed.</p><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></h3><ul><li><p><strong>Support Duties:</strong></p><ul><li>Assist individuals in leading self-directed lives and participating fully in their communities.</li><li>Follow individual support plans, recognizing and responding to needs and emergencies.</li><li>Educate individuals on personal preferences, food preparation, hygiene, and health tracking.</li><li>Manage and administer medications per regulations and ensure all medications are properly labeled and available.</li><li>Assist in transportation for recreational, employment, or medical/mental health appointments.</li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Communication and Team Support:</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain open communication with supervisors and team members.</li><li>Promote positive and respectful communication with supported individuals.</li><li>Engage individuals in community-based outings and activities.</li><li>Participate in agency operations, providing feedback and input for improvement.</li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Operational and Safety Duties:</strong></p><ul><li>Follow safety procedures for adaptive equipment use.</li><li>Monitor and document health status, complete daily documentation requirements.</li><li>Ensure safe and sanitary working conditions, handle corporate and individual funds responsibly.</li><li>Monitor and report maintenance and health/safety needs promptly.</li></ul></li></ul><h3><strong>Requirements:</strong></h3><ul><li>Be an approved driver, following all DMV and agency driving regulations.</li><li>High school diploma or GED</li><li>Complete required certifications and maintain knowledge of agency policies and procedures.</li><li>Work a flexible schedule, including last-minute changes to schedule or location.</li><li>Obtain and maintain certification, nursing delegation and other requirements throughout employment.</li><li>Support the training of new advocates</li></ul><h3><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></h3><ul><li>Lift up to 50 lbs and assist in positioning individuals.</li><li>Perform physical tasks including walking, house cleaning, and maintaining a professional demeanor.</li><li>Handle potential conflict and tension with a positive attitude.</li><li>Perform trained restraints as needed, following behavior support plans.</li></ul><h3><strong>Travel:</strong></h3><ul><li>Travel is expected for this position.</li></ul><h3><strong>About Us:</strong></h3><p>It is the mission of our organization to promote the full inclusion of people with developmental and intellectual challenges in their communities.
