We seek a collaborative, forward-thinking educator who is excited to redefine how anatomic pathology is taught and learned, honoring the discipline’s foundations while leveraging modern educational tools to deepen understanding, diagnostic reasoning, and long-term retention.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">LCSVM is building an inspired academic community designed to transform veterinary medical education from the ground up. Faculty play a central role in creating an integrated learning environment that blends hands-on microscope-based pathology and necropsy experience with digital pathology, simulation, imaging, and other emerging technologies. Our goal is to graduate veterinarians who are not only career-ready, but future-ready and prepared to adapt to rapidly evolving diagnostic platforms, interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and advances in biomedical science.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Primary responsibilities include teaching, service, and scholarly activities, with teaching as the dominant effort. Instruction in veterinary anatomic pathology, including gross pathology, histopathology, and mechanisms of disease, will be delivered through intentionally designed, multimodal learning experiences aligned with individual expertise and curricular needs. The typical allocation of effort is 75% teaching, 20% scholarly activity, and 5% service. Alternative hiring models including part time, non-benefit eligible positions will be considered.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Faculty in this role will: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Design and deliver anatomic pathology instruction using a blended learning model, integrating traditional lectures, microscopy, necropsy, and case discussions with technology-enhanced approaches such as digital slides, virtual microscopy, simulation, and case-based learning environments.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Teach core content in gross pathology, histopathology, organ system pathology, mechanisms of disease, and clinical pathologic correlation, emphasizing diagnostic reasoning and clinical relevance.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Engage students across multiple settings including classroom, laboratory, necropsy suite, microscopy lab, and simulation-based environments to support diverse learning styles and promote active learning.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Contribute to curriculum integration and innovation, working collaboratively to vertically and horizontally link pathology with clinical medicine and foundational sciences.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Participate in student assessment, feedback, and remediation, ensuring graduates meet high standards for morphologic interpretation, critical thinking, and professional competence.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Mentor students in scholarly and creative activities related to pathology, diagnostics, education, or innovation.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Maintain teaching and disciplinary excellence through continuing professional development and engagement with advances in pathology, diagnostics, and educational methodology.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Contribute scholarly work that may include educational innovation, diagnostic scholarship, research, authorship, presentations, or entrepreneurial initiatives</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Provide service to the institution and profession through committees, leadership, outreach, and engagement with professional organizations.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\"><em>Required:</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Terminal degree such as DVM (or equivalent), MD, and/or PhD, with advanced</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">training in veterinary anatomic pathology.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\"><em>Preferred:</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Board eligibility or certification in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Advanced degree, such as Master’s of Science and/or doctoral degree</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Prior teaching experience in a veterinary or medical school.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, diagnostic, or professional</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Record of scholarly activity in pathology, diagnostics, education, innovation,</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">entrepreneurship, and/or biomedical research.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">This position will be based at the new Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine in Cabot, Arkansas.  The LCSVM is co-located with Cabot Animal Support Services (CASS).
