    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><p><strong>Job purpose</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\">The Carpenter must have a well-rounded knowledge in the wood construction of single and multiple level buildings. Must understand basic wood frame construction terminology and sequence of events with predecessors. Must own all basic tools to perform job duties.</p><p><strong>Duties and responsibilities</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><em>General Company</em></strong><strong><em>&nbsp;</em></strong></p><ul><li>Always follow all Colt safety policy and site-specific safety procedure! &nbsp;</li><li>Work with Safety Team to improve safety for all employees on the job site.</li><li>Represent Colt in a professional manner to the client.</li><li>Conduct yourself at work following Colt Focus Five values. &nbsp;</li><li>Perform tasks as assigned by Foreman, Assistant Site Supervisor, and/or Site Supervisor.</li><li>Be knowledgeable in the policies, procedures, systems, and technical construction means and methods used by the Company.</li><li>Actively work to increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.</li></ul><p><strong><em>Safety</em></strong></p><ul><li>Have knowledge and comply with the Colt SSSP, standard safe practices, and Colt clean, and take corrective action when necessary</li><li>Report all incidents involving Colt Builders&rsquo; employees, subcontractor employee and Colt contract work</li><li>Report any unsafe conditions in your working area to your Foreman.</li><li>Attend weekly safety meetings with Colt Builders&rsquo; employees and subcontractor employees, and review safety issues encountered at the site</li><li>Obtain required safety training&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong><em>Project Operations</em></strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Follow and execute directions given by Foreman and Site Supervisor to meet deadlines and commitments.</li><li>Be on time for start of shift.&nbsp;</li><li>Take care of company tools and equipment and return all company tools at end of use.</li><li>Complete task correctly and free of error the first time.</li><li>Identify and correct items which are framed incorrectly.</li><li>Keep Work Area COLT CLEAN.</li><li>Select the proper tool for the work at hand.</li><li>Select the proper materials for the work at hand.</li><li>Utilize all materials properly to prevent waste.</li><li>Ability to frame and install product per details and lay-out provided.</li><li>Ask questions before proceeding with unsure conditions or techniques.&nbsp;</li><li>Train new employees and apprentice carpenters</li><li>Actively work to increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Have Basic framing knowledge</li><li>Have Basic plan reading skills</li><li>&nbsp;2 Years&rsquo; experience of in Wood Construction</li><li>Ability to follow directions&nbsp;</li><li>Have basic safety knowledge and ability to adapt to changing safety rules</li><li>Demonstrate initiative on site</li><li>Have the ability to learn and use new skills.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Functions: &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.</li><li>Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.</li><li>Must be able to walk from the ground level to the top level of the project, sometimes this can be 5 flights of stairs or ladders.</li><li>Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time.</li><li>Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.</li><li>Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.</li><li>Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.</li><li>Must be able to use all tools of the trade, hand, and Power.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be able to work together in a team environment.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Working conditions</strong>&nbsp;</p><p>Full time hourly position, requiring minimum of 40 hours/week &ndash; overtime and weekend work may be required.
