This role ensures accurate and timely processing of biological specimens and adheres to all relevant quality and safety standards, including Joint Commission and College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements.</p>\r\n\r\n<hr />\r\n<h3><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></h3>\r\n\r\n<p>Duties include, but are not limited to:</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t<p>Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination by pathologists using appropriate techniques such as embedding, microtomy, staining, and cover slipping.</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t<p>Operate and maintain histology laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including clinical automation systems and laboratory information systems.</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t<p>Utilize systems such as the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and DMHRSi (Defense Medical Human Resources System internet); training will be provided prior to service commencement.</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t<p>Ensure all activities and processes meet Joint Commission and CAP standards.</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t<p>Maintain proper documentation and accurate records for quality control and compliance purposes.</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t<p>Follow established protocols and safety procedures to handle hazardous materials and biological specimens.</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n",
