This role is ideal for a highly organized and proactive individual with a strong foundation in construction coordination, safety enforcement, and subcontractor management. The MEP Assistant Superintendent plays a key part in driving project progress, maintaining site safety, and supporting the successful delivery of technically complex infrastructure in the field. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the Project Superintendent in supervising field operations, ensuring alignment with schedule, safety, and quality goals. <br></li>\n<li>Coordinate daily construction activities among subcontractors, suppliers, and field engineers. <br></li>\n<li>Conduct daily site walks to monitor safety, cleanliness, and work quality. <br></li>\n<li>Ensure adherence to site-specific safety plans and enforce compliance with OSHA, client-specific requirements. <br></li>\n<li>Lead daily morning huddles and support weekly trade coordination meetings. <br></li>\n<li>Assist in implementing the Last Planner System including look-ahead planning, constraint removal, and PPC tracking. <br></li>\n<li>Monitor short-interval schedules and communicate updates to trades and senior field leadership. <br></li>\n<li>Maintain accurate daily reports, safety logs, and field documentation. <br></li>\n<li>Support installation verification for MEP systems, structural elements, and finish scopes. <br></li>\n<li>Coordinate inspections and manage field punchlists with the QA/QC and commissioning teams. <br></li>\n<li>Assist in managing material deliveries, laydown planning, and on-site logistics. <br></li>\n<li>Help enforce jobsite organization and secure work areas in line with lean construction principles. <br></li>\n<li>Facilitate resolution of field issues by escalating to senior staff and design partners as needed. <br></li>\n<li>Perform and verify field measurements to validate installation tolerances and conformance to approved documents. <br></li>\n<li>Support site coordination efforts including utility conflicts, slab penetrations, and rough-in inspections. <br></li>\n<li>Assist with field layout verification based on submittals, shop drawings, and as-built conditions. <br></li>\n<li>Coordinate with city inspectors, special inspectors, and third-party consultants to ensure compliance with code and inspection requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education, Experience, and Licensing/Certifications include:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(72, 65, 63); font-size: 12pt\">Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(72, 65, 63); font-size: 12pt\">Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial or industrial construction, preferably in mission-critical or MEP-intensive projects.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(72, 65, 63); font-size: 12pt\">Strong knowledge of electrical systems including medium voltage distribution, UPS, switchgear, and grounding. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(72, 65, 63); font-size: 12pt\">Understanding of commissioning processes, IST protocols, and startup procedures.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(72, 65, 63); font-size: 12pt\">OSHA 30-hour Safety Certification.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(72, 65, 63); font-size: 12pt\">First Aid/CPR Certification.</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>Alston Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</em></p>",
