Description
The Criminal Justice program in the School of Education and Professional Studies invites applications for an Instructor/Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice position. The Criminal Justice program at Greenville Technical College is committed to providing students the tools to work effectively, advance their chosen career, and maintain high ethical standards in their professions. The department enrolls 200 students in its associate degree program and employs three full-time and three part-time faculty members. The Criminal Justice program offers an associate's degree in Applied Science, which prepares graduates to work in law enforcement agencies, corrections, private investigation, corporate and industrial security, rehabilitation, or juvenile justice agencies. The mission of the Criminal Justice program is to provide quality education for graduates to become competent employees in a variety of entry-level positions in criminal justice. Instructors have diverse experience in the field and deliver curriculum on all aspects of the criminal justice system and its interaction with society. The Criminal Justice program offers courses in two formats: traditional and online. In this challenging role, you will support the Criminal Justice department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following: Teach a variety of Criminal Justice courses Develop and teach new or existing courses Prepare lectures, syllabi, and tests Grade papers and submit student's grades in a timely manner Maintain scheduled office hours and meet with students as needed Advise assigned students in the department Assist in recruiting and placement of students Remain current in theory and in practice in the field by attending professional development workshops. Serve on college committees as requested Perform other duties as assigned.
