You will coordinate inputs to the company’s general ledger system in collaboration with Systems and other relevant administrative teams. This role also includes processing and analyzing internal and external reinsurance transactions and completing timely and accurate reconciliations of general ledger accounts.\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Developing financial models using the OneStream system as the primary tool for producing financial statements and analysis.</li>\n <li>Maintaining subsidiary ledgers for company activities in accordance with statutory accounting principles (SAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Prepares monthly analyses and reports.</li>\n <li>Analyzing computer output to determine discrepancies and errors and initiates corrective action to ensure integrity of ledger system. Verifies that account balances are reported accurately and that reconciling items are cleared on a timely basis.</li>\n <li>Balancing and auditing accounting transactions for multi-company/multi-state operations.</li>\n <li>Resolving problems affecting reconciliations with other business units, departments and banks.</li>\n <li>Participating in modification of new and existing data systems to ensure compliance with area specifications and financial integrity.</li>\n <li>Preparing audit schedules for use in internal and independent external audits.</li>\n <li>Developing and maintaining job documentation and procedures.</li>\n <li>Preparing and maintaining reconciliations of general ledger accounts.</li>\n <li>Processing and creating complex financial calculations for analysis or input into the general ledger.</li>\n <li>Reconciling deposit and disbursement accounts to bank statements and corporate product systems.</li>\n <li>Processing and analyzing internal and external reinsurance transactions.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<strong>Basic Qualifications</strong>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience</li>\n <li>2–4 years of experience in an accounting or finance function</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with <strong>automated accounting systems</strong> and <strong>data processing</strong>, including <strong>general ledger accounting</strong>, <strong>account analysis</strong>, <strong>account reconciliations</strong>, <strong>bank reconciliations</strong>, application of <strong>GAAP</strong>, and advanced proficiency in <strong>Excel and spreadsheet reporting</strong></li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team</li>\n <li>Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed to meet deadlines</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience balancing ledgers and supporting accounting systems</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems</li>\n <li>Prior experience working in a deadline-driven, project-based environment</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Functions </strong></p>\n<p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
