Summary The Configuration Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and improving configuration management (CM) processes across the organization. This role ensures that all systems, products, and infrastructure components are properly identified, documented, tracked, and controlled throughout their lifecycle. The Configuration Manager works closely with engineering, IT, operations, and project management teams to maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain configuration management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent practices across projects and systems. Oversee configuration identification, including defining naming conventions, baselines, version control, and documentation requirements. Manage configuration control processes, ensuring that changes are reviewed, approved, and implemented correctly. Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) or other configuration repositories, ensuring data accuracy and completeness. Conduct configuration audits and reviews to verify compliance with internal standards and external regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, engineering, operations, QA) to ensure configuration integrity throughout the product or system lifecycle. Track and report configuration status, including changes, deviations, and baseline updates. Support release and deployment processes, ensuring that correct versions and components are delivered. Identify and resolve configuration-related issues, including discrepancies, missing documentation, or version conflicts. Provide training and guidance to teams on CM processes, tools, and best practices. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong understanding of configuration management principles, frameworks, and lifecycle processes. Experience with CM tools such as iPDM and Windchill. Excellent documentation and organizational skills with high attention to detail. Ability to analyze complex systems and maintain accurate configuration records. Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with change management, release management. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). Preferred Qualifications Active or eligible U.S. security clearance. Prior work with prime contractors or government program offices. Familiarity with DoD 5000 series, Earned Value Management (EVM), and government contract deliverables (CDRLs/SDRLs). Experience with software CM in accordance with IEEE/EIA standards. Experience in regulated industries defense. Familiarity with automated configuration tools. Experience leading CM initiatives or process improvement projects.

This role ensures that all systems, products, and infrastructure components are properly identified, documented, tracked, and controlled throughout their lifecycle. The Configuration Manager works closely with engineering, IT, operations, and project management teams to maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Develop and maintain configuration management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent practices across projects and systems.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Oversee configuration identification, including defining naming conventions, baselines, version control, and documentation requirements.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Manage configuration control processes, ensuring that changes are reviewed, approved, and implemented correctly.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) or other configuration repositories, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Conduct configuration audits and reviews to verify compliance with internal standards and external regulations.</li></ul></div><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, engineering, operations, QA) to ensure configuration integrity throughout the product or system lifecycle.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Track and report configuration status, including changes, deviations, and baseline updates.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support release and deployment processes, ensuring that correct versions and components are delivered.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Identify and resolve configuration-related issues, including discrepancies, missing documentation, or version conflicts.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Provide training and guidance to teams on CM processes, tools, and best practices.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong understanding of configuration management principles, frameworks, and lifecycle processes.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience with CM tools such as iPDM and Windchill.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Excellent documentation and organizational skills with high attention to detail.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to analyze complex systems and maintain accurate configuration records.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience with change management, release management.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Active or eligible U.S. security clearance.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prior work with prime contractors or government program offices.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Familiarity with DoD 5000 series, Earned Value Management (EVM), and government contract deliverables (CDRLs/SDRLs).</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience with software CM in accordance with IEEE/EIA standards.</li></ul></div><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience in regulated industries defense.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Familiarity with automated configuration tools.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience leading CM initiatives or process improvement projects.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p>\n",
