Description

Plan layout, install, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, using hand tools and power tools, according to customer specifications as indicated on custom engineered designs and drawings. Job Responsibilities/Key Accountabilities Measure, cut, bend, assemble and install electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader and conduit bender. Pull wire through conduit, assisted by electrical helper. Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with customer specifications and electrical codes. Work from ladders, lifts and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments. Coordinate projects and assign work to electrical helpers, ensuring all installations are completed according to specifications and in time frame specified for customer. Train electrical helpers and apprentices in appropriate electrical equipment, installation and safety procedures. Keep materials and work area clean, organized and free from clutter, or any potential safety hazards. Install power in buildings when needed to accommodate customer inspections and requests. Ensure all materials and equipment are organized, used and stored properly. Lock up, secure buildings, seal up for potential weather problems. Prepare buildings for shipment. Perform additional duties as requested
