Description The Campus Life Summer Assistant serves as a flexible student support role within the Campus Life team, providing operational, administrative, and student-facing support across multiple offices. This position offers students the opportunity to gain experience in higher education administration, student engagement, basic project management, customer service, and campus operations while contributing to the student experience at Saint Mary's College. The Campus Life Summer Intern supports the daily functions of the Mother Pauline Pantry, the SEE Hub (Student Involvement and Residence Life), and the SEE Leadership Suite (Dean of Students Office). Responsibilities may vary throughout the summer based on departmental needs and institutional priorities. Students in this role will contribute to a variety of projects, including campus engagement initiatives, technology implementation, Orientation preparation, residence life operations, and administrative support functions. Successful candidates should be adaptable, collaborative, organized, and committed to creating a welcoming and supportive campus environment. Responsibilities : Though weekly responsibilities may fluctuate, tasks may include: Support daily operations of the Mother Pauline Pantry by fulfilling online orders, staffing open hours, organizing inventory, and picking up deliveries from the SEE Hub. Assist with the transition to the new Belle Tower platform by uploading content, testing features, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting implementation efforts. Develop training and support materials for Belle Tower, including step-by-step guides, presentations, FAQs, and other user resources. Staff the SEE Hub and SEE Leadership Suite front desks by greeting visitors, answering questions, and providing administrative support to students, families, faculty, staff, and guests. Assist with Orientation preparation and implementation, including organizing materials, supporting communication efforts, and preparing resources for incoming students and families. Support Residence Life operations through Room Condition Reports (RCRs), occupancy preparation, housing projects, and other summer initiatives. Assist the Dean of Students and Associate Dean of Students offices with administrative projects, communication efforts, data entry, and general office support. Complete special projects and additional administrative tasks as assigned across Campus Life offices. Attend meetings with Campus Life staff as needed to support project planning, progress updates, and professional development. Position Requirements : Candidates should be rising sophomores or higher and be in good academic and community standing with the College. Students with an interest in higher education, student affairs, residence life, event planning, communications, leadership development, technology, or related fields are encouraged to apply, though prior experience is not required. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills and be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility, attention to detail, professionalism, and a willingness to support multiple offices and projects. Applicants should be comfortable learning new technology platforms and managing a variety of responsibilities with minimal supervision. Students may occasionally be asked to lift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds in support of pantry operations, event preparation, or office projects.
