Description

Description Markon is seeking a System Engineer Level 3 to provide technical leadership for the design, integration, testing, deployment, training, and sustainment of mission-critical communications and networking systems for the Fort Meade Customer. This role leads the implementation of packet-based hardware and software solutions utilizing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) technologies while driving end-to-end systems integration across hardware, software, and network components. The position serves as a senior technical authority responsible for ensuring interoperability, operational performance, system reliability, and mission success across complex enterprise environments. Responsibilities Lead the design, integration, testing, deployment, training, and sustainment of packet-based hardware and software systems Provide technical leadership across all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle Drive end-to-end systems integration efforts across hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure components Develop and evaluate system architectures, technical solutions, and engineering strategies Lead requirements analysis, system design reviews, and technical assessments Oversee system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and operational readiness activities Ensure interoperability, performance, reliability, and security of deployed solutions Coordinate with Government stakeholders, engineering teams, vendors, and mission partners to support program objectives Develop and maintain engineering documentation, implementation plans, and technical roadmaps Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on systems engineering best practices Support technology modernization and system enhancement initiatives Qualifications Requirements: Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with ths customer Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field required 20+ years of systems engineering experience supporting complex communications, networking, or enterprise technology environments Experience leading the design, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of packet-based systems Extensive experience with COTS and GOTS hardware and software solutions Strong experience driving end-to-end systems integration across hardware, software, and network components Experience developing system architectures, technical roadmaps, and engineering solutions Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and lifecycle processes Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating with senior stakeholders Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief technical and non-technical audiences Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, mission-focused environment supporting critical operations Salary Range USD $200,000.00 - USD $220,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
