There is a lot of growth and opportunity so there is truly no ceiling!</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>We are seeking a National Safety Director to foster a best-in-class safety culture. The chosen candidate will recommend appropriate revisions to new or existing policies and procedures to mitigate risk and propose methods to minimize risk through system changes. By providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to employees at all levels within our centers, the Safety Manager shall be instrumental in the improvement of Southern Home Services’ safety performance and culture.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Candidates who reside in the following states are encouraged to apply: Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, Missouri, Alabama, Kansas, and Texas</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Job</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Improve engagement, learning, and retention by developing new training programs and curriculum.</li><li>Evaluate, assess, and alter safety procedures and policies as required.</li><li>Be the expert in the proper use of and training on equipment and personal protective equipment.</li><li>Ensure training compliance with state and federal regulations.</li><li>Lead injury and accident inquiries and evaluations.</li><li>Analyze accident reports and evaluate injury cases based on available facts.</li><li>Prepare and conduct safety training sessions for employees and other parties as required.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards.</li><li>Track incident metrics and manage reduction in losses and risk.</li><li>Build safety culture through enhancing awareness, developing safety programs, and developing policies.</li><li>Compile and aggregate safety data and provide reporting to management.</li><li>Conduct safety investigations and respond to OSHA letters or complaints.</li><li>Participate on company’s National Safety Council</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or relevant safety experience.</li><li>4+ years' experience in promoting and implementing safety programs.</li><li>Experience managing geographically distributed workforces and work locations.</li><li>Proven track record in the management of safety programs and reducing risk.</li><li>Superior communication skills.</li><li>Able to work effectively and develop strong working relationships with management and employees.</li><li>Able to train, influence and motivate employees to be safety compliant and safety conscious.</li><li>Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards including responsibility for appropriate reporting for state and federal agencies.</li><li>Proven recordkeeping and time management skills.</li><li>Computer literate, experienced with Microsoft Office products.</li><li>Experience with managing company fleets including timely maintenance, inventory, availability, and reliability of the company vehicles.</li><li>Travel of up to 50% will be required for this role.</li><li>Ability to provide support during non-standard business hours.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Benefits</strong></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>We offer a rewarding career path with great benefits, flexible schedules, professional and on-the-job training and growth plans.
