This role is built for someone who lives outside, understands the energy of New York, and knows how to turn real-world moments into content people actually care about .</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(26, 29, 40); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">In addition to real-time cultural documentation for Okayplayer NYC through event attendance and neighborhood exploration, your responsibilities will include the following:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Attend NYC-based events, parties, restaurants, pop-ups, and cultural happenings on behalf of Okayplayer NYC</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Capture high-quality photo and video content (Reels, TikToks, Stories, short-form video) in real time</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Identify trending moments, emerging spots, and culturally relevant experiences across NYC</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Create and edit social-first content optimized for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Write captions that reflect Okayplayer’s voice and resonate with a NYC audience</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Publish content or hand off assets quickly for timely posting</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Conduct on-the-ground interviews (man-on-the-street, quick hits, event coverage)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Collaborate with the social and editorial teams on content ideas and coverage plans</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Track content performance and contribute ideas to improve reach and engagement</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Represent the Okayplayer brand professionally at events and in public spaces</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">We are seeking a candidate who is deeply immersed in the culture we</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">represent, to be successful in this role, you should have:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Based in NYC and able to travel frequently across boroughs</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Deep understanding of NYC culture, nightlife, food, music, and events</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Strong instincts for what makes engaging social content (especially short-form video)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Comfortable shooting content on a smartphone (bonus: experience with cameras or mics)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Basic editing skills (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar tools)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Strong communication skills and confidence approaching people for interviews</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Reliable, responsive, and able to move quickly in fast-paced environments</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Available to work nights and weekends (this is when most of the content happens)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Passion for hip-hop, global Black culture, and the Okayplayer brand</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Nice to Have:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Personal social media presence or portfolio showcasing content creation</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Experience covering events, nightlife, or local businesses</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Existing network within NYC creative, nightlife, or cultural scenes</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">While performing the responsibilities of the job, the following are working conditions that will be encountered.
