Our focus is on delivering the best-engineered solutions in marine interiors, distributed ship systems, electromechanical solutions, insulation, and automation and control. We are currently recruiting a Drafting technologist to join our dedicated outfitting team at our Vancouver, BC location.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Create and develop engineering designs and technical drawings using initial concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other reference materials.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Build Building Information Models with specialized software to produce digital representations of structural and functional elements of buildings and other engineering projects.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Use computer-assisted design (CAD) tools and drafting workstations.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Use Navisworks tools</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Produce design sketches and layout concepts.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prepare full documentation packages and complete sets of drawings.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Review and validate drawings to ensure they meet specifications and design requirements.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Write technical documentation and reports.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Produce construction specifications, cost estimates, and material quantities.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Oversee and train junior technologists, technicians, and drafting staff.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Knowledge relating to the design of Insulation Systems, Joiner Bulkhead Systems, Sheathing, Ceiling Systems, Deck Covering Systems, Doors, Furniture, Galley Equipment, Gratings and Battens, and to a lesser extent, related plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and piping</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Ability to apply safety standards and adhere to industry regulations, including T9640-AC-DSP-010_HAB Habitability Design Criteria and Practices Manual, OPNAV INST 9640.1C Shipboard Habitability Program, various MIL-STD&rsquo;s and MIL-PRF&rsquo;s, IMO/ FTP Code, SOLAS, and MIL-S-901 Shock Classification</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&middot; Associate degree or technical school in mechanical drafting field.
