Titan Florida has an excellent opportunity for a Shift Supervisor to work in the cement plant. This salaried exempt position will be based at the Pennsuco location in Medley, FL and will report directly to the Production Manager. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the plant safety, development of the shift people, quality control, process management, production, and training of the shift people in order to meet production standards, keeping machinery in optimum condition, inventory control, and environmental compliance. Responsibilities Conducts safety meetings and small group inspections on a regular basis to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Prioritizes, assigns and communicates job duties to employees working on the shift. Monitors and supervises the performance of hourly employees working directly in the production process. Evaluates job performance and communicates same to employees. Assists hiring, performs technical training, discipline and other related duties as needed for the shift. Maintains records of employee safety training, overtime, absences, vacations, etc. and prepares daily time sheets for employees under direct supervision of this position. Ensures that proper pay scale codes and charge number are recorded for employees on the shift. Inspect the plant daily to ensure all machinery is working properly and safely. Identify production and process problems and troubleshoot with the shift crew or call for help from the maintenance functions. Ensure an adequate level of inventory of raw materials for clinker and cement Monitors quality control and coordinates with lab and production personnel to ensure that adjustments are made as needed to enhance quality to meet required specifications. Analyzes process operational trends and implements changes as needed for the optimal operating conditions. Recommend processes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of plant production. Prepare necessary reports to inform other functions about the performance of the shift including status of production operations, problems and adjustments being made to meet production goals. Follow the operational instructions to keep all equipment running and producing product in specification. Performs other job related duties as needed. Qualifications High School diploma and related vocational training or equivalent, plus 3 – 5 years job-related prior experience. Knowledge of kiln and mill operations, equipment and machinery functions, process control of cement manufacturing process. Self-starter with the ability to work rotating shifts without direct supervision. Excellent supervisory, communication, organizational and skills. Proven ability to troubleshoot production process problem through solid decision making process. Proficient with personal computers: Word, WordPerfect, Excel. Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions. Ability to climb stairs and ladders, walk over rough and slippery surfaces, stand for long periods of time, bend and kneel. Exposed to dusty environments with exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions. Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends and be available for call-outs. Shift: Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends and overtime as necessary. Success begins with hiring the right people to partner with us as we grow and develop our businesses.
