We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping an at-risk population receive the treatment necessary for success on their road back to a healthy, productive life.</p>\n<p><strong><u>Job responsibilities:</u></strong>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Maintenance Workers are responsible for performing repairs and maintenance of structures, electrical systems, plumbing, washers and dryers, heating and ventilation and air conditioning systems in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management &amp; Training Corporation (MTC), Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) and Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) directives.</p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform maintenance and repair of structures, electrical systems, and heating, plumbing, ventilation, air&nbsp;conditioning and drainage systems; recommend contracted assistance when on-site repair is not possible.</li>\n <li>Utilize hand tools, electrical tools, or battery operated tools to make repairs or replacements.</li>\n <li>Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets, and fuses as directed.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.</li>\n <li>Install window shades or coverings, security locks, etc.</li>\n <li>Perform repair or replacement of plumbing, fixtures, washers, seals, etc.</li>\n <li>Help prepare surfaces for finishing, i.e. painting as directed.</li>\n <li>Direct inmates assigned to department.</li>\n <li>Document work order status, completion, or if outsourced repairs are needed.</li>\n <li>Perform routine and preventive maintenance checks of buildings and equipment.</li>\n <li>Perform routine scheduled checks of air conditioning, heating systems, kitchen equipment, etc.</li>\n <li>Perform counts of all control items assigned to include tools carts and tool bags, and any other control items&nbsp;including class A tools and equipment by providing counts daily before and after shift.</li>\n <li>Ability to perform the physical function of the position which includes, but is not limited to; ability to walk&nbsp;properties, climb stairs, climb ladders, use power tools and/or hand tools, lift, squat, bend, sit, or kneel for&nbsp; long periods of time.</li>\n <li>Follow all safety regulations to include the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for self as well as&nbsp;staff and offenders assigned to the maintenance department.</li>\n <li>Perform on-call support in emergency situations when equipment malfunctions.<br>\n   &nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience Requirements:&nbsp;</strong>High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training and two (2) years related experience preferred.&nbsp;Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency preferred.
