While managing your responsibilities, you will gain exposure to Preconstruction efforts, Project Engineering, and Project Management.  In addition, you will work under the direction of experienced Sr. Estimators and the Chief Estimator which provides you with opportunity to learn new industry skills every day. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Produces quantitative surveys and accurate pricing for assigned building components on a project from its early inception through an acceptable working budget, GMP, or Lump Sum Price </li>\n <li>Coordinates and manages estimating documentation during the design phase of the project</li>\n <li>Performs quantity takeoffs and pricing on civil, architectural, and structural portions of projects</li>\n <li>Engages in the subcontractor market during the design phase to receive current costing input into each estimating deliverable</li>\n <li>Obtains and presents unit pricing data to lead estimator</li>\n <li> Outlines clarifications and qualifications within an estimate for assigned building components</li>\n <li>Provides back up for estimates to be used during analysis and review</li>\n <li>Utilizes Gilbane’s estimating takeoff and costing software</li>\n <li>Utilizes Gilbane’s baseline procedures and templates in the performance of their work</li>\n <li>Adhere to Gilbane’s Baseline estimating playbook and tools</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management; bachelor’s degree preferred</li>\n <li>0-2 years of relevant experience </li>\n <li>Or equivalent combination of education and experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of On-Screen Take-off, Destini, and Site work software tools for take-offs</li>\n <li>Ability to complete quantity takeoffs for assigned divisions or building components</li>\n <li>Ability to obtain and scope trade contractor budget pricing proposals</li>\n <li>Ability to provide qualifications and clarifications for items that were quantified </li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a team-based environment</li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office programs</li>\n <li>Understanding of Contract Document and Specifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.</p>\n<p>For (New York City) this ranges from $64,000-$80,000 plus benefits and retirement program.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
