    "description": "<p><span><span>The purpose of this position is to provide excellent and loving care of children for groups, </span><span>events</span><span> and programs at New City</span><span>,</span><span> which align with the mission of NextGen to help kids find and follo</span><span>w </span><span>Jesus</span><span>! </span><span>We </span><span>desire</span><span> to ensure the safety, </span><span>security</span><span> and supervision </span><span>of children </span><span>always</span><span>. </span></span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Programs are typically Tuesday mornings and Wednesday evenings at </span><span>the </span><span>SouthPark location, during the school year. </span></span></span><span><span>Occasional </span><span>special events</span><span> and special holiday worship services will be held on Thursday evenings, Saturday evening</span><span>s</span><span> and Sunday evening</span><span>s (also several Christmas Eve services on Dec. 23 &amp; 24, at both locations).</span><br><span>Our desire </span><span>is to create a warm, </span><span>welcoming</span><span> and loving environment in which children and parents feel secure</span><span>.</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>We </span><span>pray</span><span> that </span><span>each child experiences </span><span>belonging – to the family of God, and </span><span>to</span><span> our New City church family; </span><span>learns </span><span>the truth – only found in the living Word of God, the Bible; </span><span>discovers their identity in Christ – who God says they are as His beloved child, and </span><span>unfolds the purpose that God has for their life.</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Qualifications:</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Mature relationship with Christ as their Lord and Savior, a reputation for godly </span><span>character</span><span>, including being a good role model</span><span> in all things (as a spouse or parent, if applicable)</span><span>.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Track record</span><span> of faithful service and a heart for children.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Present yourself as a professional, </span><span>responsible</span><span> and </span><span>appropriate adult</span><span> role model for children in our care.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Have a knowledge and understanding of New City’s mission and represent it to all church personnel, parents, and children.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Responsibilities/Expectations:</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Build loving, trusting relationships with children in your care, as well as parents.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Support the vision and values of New City</span><span> and </span><span>of NextGen.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Al</span><span>ways supervise children</span><span> to ensure their safety, security, and well-being</span><span>. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Creat</span><span>e</span><span> an environment of love and belonging</span><span>; learn children’s names and ask </span><span>questions.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Know the emergency procedures and be ready to implement them.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Be a team player with your co-workers and with New City staff.</span></span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Know your schedule – date/location</span><span>/</span><span>time - and arrive at work on time </span><span>to</span><span> the designated meeting spot. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Wear a NextGen shirt. (We will start the year off with the new gray one.)</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Prepare for each childcare </span><span>event per</span><span> Director’s </span><span>instructions</span><span>; prepare the classroom to receive children in a safe, warm environment.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Ensure that all children have been accurately checked in and all possessions are labeled accordingly. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Identify</span><span> children with allergies; check their nametag to make sure it is listed; inform co-workers. If they brought their own food be sure it is properly labeled and stored.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Communicate with co-workers to ensure that children are </span><span>supervised at all times</span><span>.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Work with your co-workers to ensure </span><span>that the event schedule i</span><span>s followed.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>If curriculum is provided, please follow the simple lesson.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Ensure that children are checked out according to procedures.</span></span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Follow </span><span>c</span><span>lassroom cleaning procedures after </span><span>children</span><span> have checked out. </span><span>All team members in each room stay </span><span>un</span><span>til all is finished.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Communicate with parents in a polite and professional manner; allow the Director to communicate any concerns with parents.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Refrain from the use of cell phones during work </span><span>hours</span><span>, unless</span><span> it is an emergency</span><span>; notify the team leader or Director as soon as possible if this happens</span><span>.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Be familiar with and follow all New City Kids bathroom policies and procedures.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>If a child </span><span>has a serious injury</span><br><span>and you think the parents should know, alert the team leader or Director, complete an injury form</span><span> and sign it; have the parent sign it as well; make a copy and give the parent one copy, and the Director the other copy (for the facilities manager</span><span>).</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>",
