POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Direct Care Staff provides supportive care to medically fragile children in the Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role assists with daily living activities, safety monitoring, basic clinical support, and maintaining a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment in accordance with Florida PPEC regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, diapering, grooming, dressing, and positioning.
• Support safe mobility and comfort of children throughout the day.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to supervising RN.
• Support emergency response and infection control procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, including equipment and supplies.
• Assist with developmental and social stimulation activities as appropriate.
• Participate in required staff training, annual competencies, and meetings.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Certified Nursing Assistant CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT, or relevant pediatric care experience.
• Minimum one year of experience caring for infants or toddlers.
• Current CPR certification.
• Successful background screening and TB clearance in accordance with state requirements.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under RN supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift, assist, kneel, bend, and position medically fragile children safely.
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Visual and auditory ability to monitor children and their equipment.
• Manual dexterity to assist with feeding and care tasks.
COMPLIANCE STATEMENT
