What Makes You a Great Fit We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Payroll Engineering team. In this role, you’ll design, build, and scale reliable payroll solutions that directly impact customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. You’ll work closely with product, design, and other engineering partners to solve complex problems and deliver thoughtful, high-impact features. You take ownership of what you build, care deeply about code quality, and balance speed with long-term scalability. How You’ll Make an Impact: Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. Architect, develop, and maintain applications and services using TypeScript, Postgres, and AWS in a serverless environment. Optimize systems and processes to drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement. Lead by example in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments. Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices to continuously enhance our technology stack. Let’s Connect If You Have: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend and serverless architecture. Experience with TypeScript, Postgres, and AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, etc.). Solid understanding of software design patterns, microservices architecture, and RESTful APIs. A lean mindset - Focus on delivering customer value by minimizing waste, optimizing workflows, fostering continuous improvement, and prioritizing in an iterative manner. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
