Description
The Respiratory Therapist Lead assists Director for twenty-four hour/day accountability for the planning, directing, leading and evaluating the care, provided by the Respiratory Services staff and EEG Department. Oversees staffing schedule, providing shift coverage to meet minimum staffing requirements and is accountable for meeting Departmental productivity goals. Act as Point of Care Supervisor for ABG’s testing. Assists in the Preparation of requests for the fiscal year’s budget.
Essential Functions
Assists Director with collecting and analyzing statistical and financial data, implementing solutions as needed.
Manages the department’s charge master, ensuring accurate and timely charging functions.
Assists Director with scheduling.
Recruits and retains competent staff to maintain optimal department performance.
Oversees daily operations, ensuring quality patient care through appropriate staffing.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements (CMS, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA).
Evaluates and implements new products, procedures, and department policies for optimal service.
Manages capital and equipment needs, coordinating requests with senior leadership.
Achieves department productivity goals through efficient staffing and workflow management.
Oversees departmental inventory, ordering, and utilization.
Administers and charts medication and therapies according to policy.
Performs and reports Arterial Blood Gas procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
Adheres to all respiratory protocols, including ventilation equipment management.
Uses patient safety techniques and follows protocols for medication delivery and patient identification.
Demonstrates clinical competency in crisis management, bronchoscopes, and age-specific care.
Participates in process improvements and performs additional duties as requested.
