The Scientist/Engineer will provide support services for planning, execution, and evaluation of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR) real property and facility projects. Whether you're developing project plans, reviewing submittals, or coordinating improvement and repair projects across CONUS and OCONUS sites, every deliverable you produce supports a mission that matters — and a federal agency that is always moving forward. Work Schedule and Location: Remote : This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 100% remote with travel as needed to do site assessments Responsibilities Managing project portfolios and providing support to stakeholders Developing project plans, schedules, facility drawings/sketches, requirement documents (scope, market research, price/cost estimates), and budgets and tracking project tasks, deliverables, and timelines Interpreting and reviewing submittals, existing drawings, and related documents for facility and real property projects Assisting the OAR real property team with the implementation of improvement and/or repair projects across multiple OAR sites located OCONUS & CONUS Developing facility management procedures and coordinating with stakeholders to establish preventative maintenance best-practices and programs within the OAR Laboratories Collecting existing OAR facility and real property documentation and maintaining project records in the DOC & NOAA real property system-of-record (Builder) Supporting the OAR/CFO real property team as a member of various committees, working groups, and task forces Participating in OAR and NOAA-wide meetings Supporting, coordinating, and facilitating development and execution of project briefings, project reports, spreadsheets, and systems to help document, track, analyze, report and resolve project issues Providing guidance on current and future facility requirements with evolving technology Coordinating with the NOAA/OCAO/Facility Engineer Office (FEO) to resolve project inquiries and provide support documentation Assisting with NOAA-wide facility and real property data calls and requests for information Supporting and assisting OAR/CFO with the provision of facility management support services, including creation of requirement templates, facility planning tools, briefings, and development of related training content Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline Ability to obtain a Public Trust 8+ years of professional and/or academic experience Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, MS Office, and Google Documents Desired: Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Architectural Engineering Public Trust clearance 10+ years of professional and/or academic experience Advanced AutoCAD experience Passed the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards Exam Passed the Construction Documents Technologist exam from the Construction Specialist Institute Experience/familiarity working on property projects with federal government customers FWI is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.
