The Field Utility Inspector will support the delivery of a regional network project by providing on‑site inspection of construction, maintenance, and compliance of water, sewer, gas, or electrical infrastructure. This position is responsible for inspection, coordination, and compliance oversight throughout construction. Working under the direction of the Construction Management team, this position ensures that all utility and fiber‑optic installations meet engineering specifications, project requirements, safety standards, and applicable public‑agency regulations. The Inspector will serve as a key field representative, coordinating with contractors, utility providers, local agencies, and project stakeholders to support safe, timely, and high‑quality project delivery.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform daily field inspections of utility and fiber‑optic construction activities to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and engineering standards.</li>\n <li>Monitor contractor adherence to project schedules, right‑of‑way restrictions, traffic control requirements, and public‑works regulations.</li>\n <li>Review and document construction progress, material placement, trenching, conduit installation, pull‑box placement, splicing locations, and related utility work.</li>\n <li>Serve as a primary field point of contact for contractors, coordinating daily activities and communicating issues to the Construction Management team.</li>\n <li>Verify compliance with safety requirements, OSHA standards, and applicable permits issued by Caltrans, Los Angeles County, and other agencies.</li>\n <li>Assist in coordinating construction access, material staging, and field logistics with contractors and utility partners.</li>\n <li>Track and document deficiencies, corrective actions, and completion of punch‑list items.</li>\n <li>Prepare daily inspection reports, photo documentation, and field records.</li>\n <li>Assist in obtaining and coordinating construction permits and ensuring field compliance with permit conditions.</li>\n <li>Identify field issues, recommend resolutions, and escalate concerns to the Construction Management team as needed.</li>\n <li>Monitor vendor performance, schedule adherence, and quality of installations throughout the project lifecycle.</li>\n <li>Participate in field meetings, progress reviews, and coordination sessions with contractors and stakeholders.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>8–10 years of field utility inspection experience required, preferably in telecommunications, fiber‑optic, or underground utility construction</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field</li>\n <li>OSHA certifications preferred (OSHA 10 or OSHA 30)</li>\n <li>Utility inspection certifications preferred, such as APWA, NICET, or similar</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of underground utility construction, fiber‑optic installation practices, and public‑works standards</li>\n <li>Experience working with public‑agency right‑of‑way requirements (Caltrans, counties, municipalities, etc.)</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, utility plans, and construction specifications.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in field documentation, daily reporting, and digital inspection tools.</li>\n <li>Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors, inspectors, engineers, and agency representatives.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to identify field issues, recommend solutions, and support timely resolution</li>\n <li>Developed understanding of construction safety practices and regulatory compliance</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently in the field, manage multiple tasks, and maintain accurate records under schedule pressure</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000 per year</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Work Location: Onsite 4-5 days per week in the field throughout the county of Los Angeles, CA</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Travel: Up to 80% travel to field sites in Los Angeles County</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check</p>\n<h2>Our Company</h2>\n<p><strong>Cordoba Corporation, Making a Difference</strong></p>\n<p>Cordoba Corporation is a nationally recognized civil engineering, construction management, program management, and planning firm.
