Description
Job Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager
Reports To: F&B Manager
As Assistant Restaurant Manager in The Moorings Restaurant, your core purpose is to create a warm, memorable dining experience for every guest who walks through our doors. You will lead from the floor setting the tone through your energy, attention to detail, and genuine care for both guests and your team.
Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you will support the smooth day-to-day running of the restaurant, ensuring service is consistently friendly, efficient, and to the highest standard. You will play a key role in developing the team, driving performance, and identifying opportunities to enhance the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Delivering Exceptional Guest Experiences
Lead service across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring a consistently high standard in The Moorings Restaurant
Build genuine connections with guests, creating a welcoming and relaxed dining atmosphere
Guide the team in delivering attentive, knowledgeable, and professional service
Maintain excellent knowledge of menus, ingredients, and beverages to confidently support guest queries and recommendations
Ensure presentation standards are consistently maintained across tables, service areas, and the overall restaurant environment
Supporting Daily Operations
Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of The Moorings Restaurant
Ensure service runs smoothly, efficiently, and in line with hotel standards and SOPs
Respond to guest feedback or concerns with care and professionalism, resolving issues promptly
Monitor stock levels and ensure all service areas are fully prepared and well-maintained
Support the coordination of bookings, guest flow, and service planning
Driving Sales & Performance
Encourage a strong culture of upselling across the team, focusing on enhancing the guest experience
Promote daily specials, beverages, and seasonal offerings with confidence
Support the achievement of departmental targets through strong service and teamwork
Leading & Developing the Team
Act as a positive role model on the floor, leading with energy, respect, and professionalism
Support the onboarding and training of new team members
Provide guidance, encouragement, and feedback to help the team grow and improve
Reinforce high standards and best practices in line with our hotel values
Contribute to daily briefings and ongoing team development conversations
Flexibility & Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments to ensure a seamless guest experience
Be adaptable to support other food & beverage outlets when required
Contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support the hotel in achieving high standards across inspections and guest feedback
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a busy restaurant or hotel environment
A passion for hospitality and delivering genuine, high-quality guest experiences
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A hands-on, proactive approach with a positive attitude
A natural ability to build strong relationships with both guests and colleagues
