All services are free or low cost. We&rsquo;re also one of the few Federally Qualified Health Centers in the nation with providers who specialize in primary care for LGBTQ people and with a research team working to advance the care and treatment of people in our community.</p><p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong> Perform professional and clinical duties in the dispensing of medications to patients and clinic.</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Prepare, fill, and verify prescriptions as ordered by physicians and other authorized personnel as indicated by California Law.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Store and preserve medications and vaccines as appropriate.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Check incoming shipments of pharmacy supplies and medications and arrange for their storage.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Charge 3rd party payer for dispensed medications.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Remove outdated drugs from the pharmacy and clinic stocks.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Distribute clinic stock supplies of medications.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Oversee and coordinate the work of pharmacy technicians in basic pharmacy operations as well as other duties as outlined in the job functions of pharmacy technicians and as allowed by California Law.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Oversee and coordinate the work of pharmacy clerks in the duties as outlined in the job functions of pharmacy clerks and as allowed by California Law.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participate in in-service training (includes both presentation of in-services and attendance at the presentation of others providing in-services).</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Provide drug information to clinic personnel and medical staff.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participate in staff meetings, planning meetings, and other meetings as needed.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Perform other duties as needed and as directed by Pharmacist Manager or the Director of Pharmacy.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>JOB QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Knowledge of or experience working with the LGBTQ community and familiarity with issues of particular relevance to LGBTQ people.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>A passion for the Center&rsquo;s work and its mission to make the world a better place for LGBTQ people.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Current licensure (unrestricted) to practice pharmacy in the State of California.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Credentialing as an HIV Pharmacist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) is required within 1 year of hire.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>A minimum of one year of previous retail or ambulatory clinic pharmacy experience.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Background and knowledge of HIV/AIDS and their drugs and pharmacology is preferred.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Bilingual skills, a plus (English/Spanish fluency preferred).</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Good computer skills, particularly in word processing, database operations, spreadsheets, and other software systems.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expression, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages, English-speaking abilities, immigration status, and physical abilities in a multicultural environment.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The Los Angeles LGBT Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to fostering diversity within its staff.
