As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care! </p>\n<p>  </p>\n<p>Right now we’re looking for a <strong>Recreational Therapist </strong>to work in our <strong>Senior’s Care </strong>team. </p>\n<p>  </p>\n<p><strong>Employment Status: Temporary Part-time Duration: January 6, 2027</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Reporting Relationship:</strong> Manager of Allied Health Services & Outpatient Rehab <strong>Hourly Rate Range:</strong> $32.99 - $39.75 <strong>Location:</strong> Reactivation Care Centers (both Church and Finch sites) </p>\n<p><strong>Employee Group:</strong> OPSEU 590 </p>\n<p><strong>Hours of work: </strong>Rotating shifts 8 hour day shifts, including weekends.  Some statutory holidays may be required.  </p>\n<p>  </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Developing, designing, implementing and evaluating individualized and group therapeutic recreational/leisure/life skills programs and special events. </li>\n <li>Supporting and encouraging the development of functional and acceptable social skills for patients at the ALC Reactivation Care Centers. </li>\n <li>Providing consultation services with Health professionals when requested. </li>\n <li>Recording patient assessment, progress and discharge status, in accordance with department and hospital policy. </li>\n <li>Providing supervision and support to a group volunteer who assists in-patients with   various social activities. </li>\n <li>Developing linkages with community agencies so that patients become more aware of recreational supports once discharged </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications: </strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation & Leisure Studies with Therapeutic Recreation focus or University Degree in Human Sciences with a Post Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation</li>\n <li>Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) with the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)</li>\n <li>Ensure professional practices and ethics are followed as governed by professional organization affiliation as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) with the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)</li>\n <li>Minimum of 1-2 years of direct experience in working with Inpatients preferred.</li>\n <li>Experience working with an ALC patient population is an asset.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the network of Community services and agencies serving patients in the community (Toronto area).</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required in order to facilitate effective communication with patients, team members and volunteers.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to prioritize a varied workload.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated initiative and leadership skills.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated cross cultural awareness and sensitivity.</li>\n <li>Ability to respond rapidly and decisively to crisis situations.</li>\n <li>Availability to work during the weekday, weekends, and statutory holidays.</li>\n <li>Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.</li>\n <li>An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
